Another pretentious snooze-fest from the publisher. The game is just boring and empty feeling. Being from Annapurna as well, the game's backed by Megan Ellison and family... a family whose works mimic the most cartoonishly evil representations of Satan.

I don't write reviews often, but for my first impressions, this game is an absolute joy. I got my first legendary bike parts in the game, so I played for quite a bit, and I think I'm ready to write a review of it.
I would describe this game as a semi-open world game where you go to different points of interest to compete in races. It's really a satisfying game play loop where you race, earn rep, upgrade your bike through parts you either earn or buy, and repeat. What I really liked about the races is that it isn't really a one and done thing, you can earn more than 1 rep from beating certain challenges in the race. This really motivates you to come back and replay the races. Now that I'm thinking about it, this game really reminds me to the open world style that burnout paradise has, but with a chill vibe and kind of a Bomb-rush Cyberfunk attitude.
Speaking of vibe, the artwork for the game, wow. They really knocked it out of the park with how the game looks.
I've also noticed some really great attention to detail in the game overall. From the different sounds you hear , to the soundtrack, even down to how the vibration feels when you're using a controller (I highly recommend playing with a controller for this one). These small details really makes you feel like you are gliding across the terrain, soaking in the sun and feeling the wind in your hair.
I will mention I did notice some very minor graphical hiccups with the game. I noticed some of the assets, like bikes and the title opening appearing on the screen for a brief second earlier than they should, but nothing that really affected my game play experience. With my time playing the game, it seems to be pretty stable, but I will update this review if I come across anything more.
Overall, this game is a ton of fun, and a great game for the summer. I'm really looking forward to diving back into this world !

overpriced the game is too small. bad A.I. and the reason i refunded is you play as a female. i never play or buy games as a female protagonist as it breaks immersion for me, it plays well the handling of the bikes is nice the graphics also get a thumbs up.music is good too .whats up with the bike frames idk i got three but not one resembled any bike i ever seen before "maybe they get better bc i not played the whole game". i only played 30 mins so i cant really give a true review all i can do is tell you why i refunded. i raced DH and enduro for 15 years. crossed europe solo on my bike irl and have been a lifetime enthusiast of cycling so it saddens me to refund this. but as mentioned female protagonist.cheesy bike frames and little content is too much for me to stomach at this price.

About 75% done, but I wanted to write this while my thoughts are fresh.
I looked forward to this game for a longgg time and I am happy to say I have really enjoyed it! The feel of the bike is great, art is great, music at times gives me Sable aka Japanese Breakfast energy. I have found myself simply riding around enjoying the vibe.
However! As with all things we truly love, I have some thoughts.
1. Once I got the hang of it, everything became really easy. I’m not good at games, never had twitchy reflexes, but once I figured out how to turn decently well then I started beating the time trial and getting KAT in every race.
2. Because the biking feel is so good it actually begins to feel underutilized. When I finally unlocked the two-speed it was so nice! Adding just a bit more depth added so much to the experience. It made me wish there were more environmental challenges to overcome/take advantage of (e.g. uphill/downhill, oil spills, hydro plane, etc). This all leads me into my next point…
3. The upgrade system was something I really looked forward to…but then within the first thirty minutes I had found the parts that were strangely better than everything else I found afterwards. The draft boost seat and the green beach cruiser frame came so early on and then I never found anything more compelling. Even my handlebars I’ve only changed once or twice. Maybe if there had been an upgrade system a lá BotW’s armor you could have made certain pieces better over time? I just don’t get why my beach cruiser is faster than the intense looking road bike frame. Makes me sad that I didn’t really get much out of the bike customization.
4. The story is…a video game story, sadly. There are a few funny dialogues but the actual meat of it has very little to it. The parts guy actually had so much potential until they just copy+pasted his dialogue a million times, I actually began to dread him bc of it.
This makes it sound like I didn’t enjoy it, but I really did, and I’m excited for the last 25%, and I’ll honestly probably go for 100% which I never do.
It’s just feels like it was so close to being really great, but it is just really good.

Realistic mechanics including drafting to increase speed during racing but with all the fun of a goofy arcade game. Caught somewhere between Lego Island, Lonely Mountains: Downhill and your favourite arcade racer, Wheel World is a winner.

Best feeling cycling in a game! Really love the way they encouraged exploration with parts. The races are challenging to 100% but really fun. Great premise for the story too! Looking forward to 100%ing this one.
Customizing the bike parts leads to some hilariously goofy looking bikes when focusing on your specs you need for a specific race.
