Since the devs put in fake players with fancy skins that are just Bots that walk around in your town, I asked a chat bot to write a review so the circle is complete. "This single player video game is decent, offering a mix of standard gameplay mechanics and a passable story. The graphics are average and while the characters have some depth, the world-building could use improvement. The game has its moments, but it fails to fully immerse the player and can become repetitive. Overall, it's a solid option for those looking for a simple single player experience, but don't expect anything groundbreaking." Update on 15.05.2023: I was curios about the new League mechanic, so I checked out Season 3. Sadly its nothing more than a little UI that opens up at the end of the map and you can press a gambling button.

As a new player who just downloaded the game, I sent an e-mail to their support saying I made an honest mistake and bought the season pass & hunter's fund a few hours before it ended because I had no idea when or what was going on. I totally thought this season pass was for the new one, but the great XD "support" team refused to help in any way or form and decided to grab the money and run away with it. I even tried to tell them I needed to speak to a manager and that they needed to understand and support new players who may make such errors. It isn't a matter of money, but rather about fair treatment and a sort of ethical approach towards human errors as I was overwhelmed and had zero clear indication. They still kept refusing and blaming me and literally telling me to pay attention! I got nothing out of the Season Pass and the Hunter's Fund... Zero ethics. On a side note, be careful of the paid and fake positive bot reviews they're pushing out. Game is a full p2w gacha simulator. Try reading Mobalytics article to get a very tiny peek of the horrors getting cooked behind closed doors at XD, it will only get worse, you have been warned, read further if you need a small glimpse. Be very aware that the game's main direction now is to make it harder and harder to obtain Flame Elementium, game's main currency for trading between players, to force you to take one of two paths: either trading their RMT partners, yes they're partners, or buying the P2W pacts and gambling their gacha system for a hefty fee while no life farming, not exaggerating if I say you can lose your monthly salary in a matter of hours, then you will start spending your savings and become one of the addicts crawling this casino themed simulator. Whales and RMTs are the ones recommending this mobile gacha simulator because money is of no value to them, along with paid reviews and XD bots. Those saying they reached t7 and enjoyed the "game" or smooth sailed through the story or anything similar are basically NOT real reviews. You don't even start to scratch the very far outer layer of end "game" till you hit t8 maps by having few billions of damage, and t8 has 3 internal tiers BTW each scaling harder, then you have to climb to profound by making sure you have billions on top of billions of damage which is the massive difference between t7 where you can do fine having just millions so you see the difference, then after profound you can do deep space, and that my friend requires trillions on top of trillions of damage, not to mention other actual "game" aspects of this simulator. Do the math and figure out the real reviews yourself. Avoid at all costs, this ISN'T a game.

Torchlight: Infinite brings back the classic ARPG experience with fast combat, deep character customization, and endless loot grinding. Unlike its predecessors, this entry focuses on a free-to-play model with a more modern design, aiming to rival Diablo and Path of Exile. But does it live up to expectations? The Good: ✅ Fluid & Fast-Paced Combat: Combat is responsive and satisfying, making fights feel impactful. ✅ Deep Customization: No traditional classes—players can mix and match skills, talents, and gear to create unique builds. ✅ Endless Loot & Progression: The looter ARPG formula is alive and well, rewarding constant progression. ✅ No Stamina or Energy Limits: Unlike many mobile ARPGs, you can play as much as you want without restrictions. ✅ Frequent Updates & Events: The game receives consistent new content and seasonal updates. The Bad: ❌ Monetization Concerns: Free-to-play model means there’s always the risk of pay-to-win mechanics. ❌ Story is Forgettable: If you're looking for a deep narrative, this isn't the focus. ❌ UI Can Feel Overwhelming: The menus and skill systems might feel cluttered or complex for new players. ❌ Online-Only Gameplay: No offline mode, which can be frustrating if you just want to grind solo. Final Verdict: If you love fast, action-packed ARPGs and don’t mind a free-to-play model, Torchlight: Infinite offers fun combat, deep customization, and rewarding loot progression. However, its long-term appeal will depend on fair monetization and continued content updates. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 8/10 – A solid ARPG with great mechanics but potential pay-to-win pitfalls.⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Torchlight: Infinite brings a fresh and exciting take to the action RPG genre. The gameplay is fast, fluid, and addictive, with a wide variety of characters and builds to explore. The skill customization system is incredibly deep, allowing you to experiment and create unique playstyles. The visuals are vibrant, and the art style perfectly captures the Torchlight charm. The game feels polished, and the loot system is highly satisfying. Whether you’re a long-time ARPG fan or a newcomer, Torchlight: Infinite offers endless hours of engaging gameplay. Highly recommended!

I cry for the future of gaming. This checks all of the boxes of predatory game design. It looks like there is potential for a mediocre game, but it is completely obscured by the mobile-first UI design, daily login bonuses, limited time events, dozens of different premium currencies, micro-transactions, etc. I only played about an hour but I feel like I need to take a shower after experiencing that.

I don't normally post reviews- but I am posting one in fairness to some of the either misinformed, or malicious lies that were posted by some other reviews. The game does have P2W, however it is nowhere close to the levels of Diablo Immortal. The game does NOT have PvP, and I can say from my hours played in the varying versions of the beta, that while the shop does provide some power for PvE purposes, it is limited to about 30-40% difference in strength. That difference would be someone who has whaled to the max, versus someone who has absolutely no upgrades whatsoever. To explain the P2W a bit in this game- there is a lootbox system for "Pactspirits" or pets. Pets improve your stats, and have some custom traits that can modify your character. You are given various rarities of pets over the course of playing, however legendary pets, from my experience, seem to be limited to lootboxes. You are given lootbox rolls as with most other lootbox games based on various achievements/battlepass/dailies. The pets have their own passive tree which becomes affixed to your character, and the difference between a legendary pet and a normal pet is 30%. I am posting this mostly to combat the misinformation posted elsewhere in the reviews. I will note- the devs have made sweeping changes to their P2W system based on feedback, and as of my review, the only P2W that exists are these pets, as well as hero classes that are locked behind a one time fee. (The alternate classes are NOT stronger than normal classes based on beta testing). The game adopts elements from popular ARPGS Path of Exile, keeping the complexity of support gems, customization via "passive trees", and various gameplay elements such as currency modifying gear, while reducing the overall complexity by having a more understandable UI, a less cluttered tree, and more guidance with certain traits geared towards certain builds (while not at all eliminating diversity of builds or even wacky "off build" builds). Overall I think this is an excellent ARPG after my time spent playing, and if your concern is the cash shop, I can advise that it will have little to moderate impact at most, if at all. Again- there is NO PvP, PvE is affected to about 30% at most if you were to completely max out a pet, and the devs have listened to player feedback and continue to do so. Do not be misinformed by other posts that seem to be based on having players not try the game.

Played Torchlight, Torchlight 2, and have Torchlight III in my inventory ready to try it a bit. Figured I'd try this one while I was at it. Loved the Torchlight franchise and TLII I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours in. Logged in, looked at all the characters, saw one I immediately liked the look of. Went to select it, "unlock battle pass to play this character". Nope. Not even going to go there, premium characters behind a battle pass? Absolutely not going to play this any further.

There *might* be a decent game in here somewhere, but it’s completely smothered by alerts and shady psychological tricks wrapped up in a flashy UI. 28th Feb 2023, 1125hrs: After reading some other reviews, I see the need to add this. I am a Singaporean Chinese. My issue with XD is it's poor business conduct and product quality, which I am not sorry to say, western business corporations also share. The hero purchase model was first introduced in Marvel Heroes Online by Gazillion, headed by David Brevik, in 2013. The gacha model was introduced by Japan, based on their gachapon culture. The western game developer, EA games, took the predatory model further by having gacha pulls award only FRAGMENTS of a character and upgrading the character requires more fragments in the mobile game, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. I ever spent close to SGD$1000 in a SINGLE pulling session and only got about half of the fragments needed to unlock a character. So if anyone wants to make the issue of poor business conduct and product quality about the Chinese race, note, I can also make same review about western products and generalize it as a Caucasian issue. Now, to my review about Torchlight Infinite. The game WAS enjoyable from character level 1-80 and end game netherealm T1-T6. But beyond that, it's a torturous chore. Here's why: 1. Like POE, there are unexplained one shot mechanics that will instant kill your character despite having multiple defensive layers and over max resistances. 2. XP penalty for dying is -5% from level 60-80 and -10% from level 90 onward. Doesn't sound so bad? No, it's really bad. The XP bar is in percentages. So if your XP bar says it's 90% full, and your character dies, it will minus exactly 5% off that 90% leaving you with 85% left. Still not so bad? Wait till you read the next point... 3. XP gain beyond level 80 slows down. After level 90, clearing a T7 map nets you only 1-2% XP. Ok, so just play more maps, problem solved, right? Which leads to the next point..... 4. Netherealm requires tokens to enter. And the tokens are in tiers as well. A Netherealm T7 map requires a rank 4 token that RARELY drops. The currency to buy it also RARELY drops. A rank 4 token cost 8 currency. Do the math. - 14th Feb 2023, drop rate for the currency seems to have improved after recent maintenance. 5. Loot drops. Sure, there tons of loot in this game as advertised. BUT, 99% of them are useless, including legendaries. The best gear are crafted which brings me to the next issue.... 6. Crafting materials. The drop rate for crafting materials is PATHETIC. In a loot explosion, 99-100% are unwanted gear, meaning to say the materials don't drop at all most of the times. But no worries, there's a trade house to buy gear from other players. One man's trash is another man's treasure right? So there's still hope...... until you see the asking price. Youtube have guides to teach you how to maximize the chances for getting materials but trust me, that near perfect set up rarely happens. Even when it happens, it might not drop as well. Even if it drops, it bearly hit 5 pieces and you will need HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of it depending on RNG. - 14th Feb 2023, drop rate seems to have improved after recent maintenance. 7. Then the crafting itself, only trash gear of item level 85 onwards are worth crafting. Because only gear with at least item level 85 can roll T1 affixes and the first 2 affixes requires only flame dust which you will have plenty of, as it's the lowest tier materials so no worries. BUT, the embers are rare drops. So good luck. And yes, I said "roll", which means the quality of the affixes you get depends on RNG. I exhausted around 40 pieces of embers which I had accumulated over 3 weeks and only got the lowest end of the T1 affix. I play around 36 hours a week. So 100 over hours and I only got 40 pieces of the ember TYPE I need. Yes, there are different types of ember for different affixes. 8. XD also lied about money cannot buy power. The pactspirits(commonly called pets), for those that increases damage or improve the ability to survive, the increase is not that great. BUT for those that improve drop rate of materials, the change is significant, especially for the legendary ones. And guess how are pactspirits obtained? Gacha. 9. Difficulty in this game is achieved in the form of bullet hell. Other than the monsters' attacks, the environment attacks too. Some can be seem, some can't. As the game is still in EA, I suspect a glitch. But even if it's not, there is literally no place for you to move. Monsters come in swarms, boss fight areas are small and they leave damage pools around the area accompanied by wide AOE attacks. The latest season mechanic limits you to a small area with swarms of monsters and environmental attacks. This is what I call a lazy method of game developing. Creating difficulty via a mess and leaving glitches and bugs unfixed. 10. I just found out on 7th Feb 2023 that certain skills were never working. And I recalled, this game is still in early access, thus, if you really have to play this game, go pure F2P. Always test the skills on the training dummy before actually using it. I know the imbue skills are not working at all. Path of Fire showed 1.3mil dps but hit for only a few thousand. Frost Terra don't apply the frostbite ailment as stated in the tool tip. And guess what the developers say when I submitted a ticket? They want either a more detailed description, screen shot or a video. They thought every gamer is a streamer and wouldn't even bother to just run the game and test it out themselves. - 15th Feb 2023, submitted a video about Frost Terra's issue as XD had requested, but from their reply, it's obvious that they don't even understand what they had created. 11. 7th Feb 2023, 1926hrs. The game automatically goes into partial screen and the start tab is gone. Cannot log into game. Tried restarting the game, verified game files, re-installed the game and rebooting my PC before inform XD's support. XD support told me to try 4 methods I had used. I replied I did before informing them. Their reply? "Ok, looking forward to your reply." - Resolved on 13th Feb 2023 by manually editing WindowsNoEditor. Solution provided by fellow gamers. And if you make the mistake like I did, which is buying the battle pass and the monthly pass, all the above just makes the game more stressful to play. One of the battle pass quest have a requirement so high (5.4mil dps), it makes you feel like you got scammed. I'm at level 93 and my dps is only about 130K. As of now, Torchlight Infinite is just another cash grab and XD's claims that they encourage build variety is a lie. Because up to this point, I am quite certain skills that requires you to remain stationary for more than 1 sec when attacking is not viable in Netherealm T7. A mobile game developer will always be a mobile game developer. They only make torturous chores where players need to pay money to do, not games. Play at your own risk.

Gonna leave a review here just to give an honest perspective of the game from someone who actually played the game and didn't just assume based on public opinion. The Good : Game play is very fluid , typically fast paced once you unlock your movement skills , 'questing' through the campaign is a slog but it seems to be the nature of the arpg is to follow a story and get you to follow a linear world until 'endgame'. This is where the game just absolutely shines, end game is a loop that feels great to get into, very poe esque with a mapping style system but a nice little curve ball with RNG based cards that you have to upgrade over time in order to inevitably use those to increase your rewards. Mapping currencies drop, where you can reward yourself with good combinations of end game card usage combined with the mapping currencies . Skills seem pretty straight forward, you will typically use one damage ability with a combination of a movement skill as well as multiple aura's , combine that with the skill trees of the characters and you have a solid little game to design a character around.. while many builds are already well thought out and the meta is pretty figured out, it doesn't stop you from attempting different combinations to have fun and push your creativity to find results. Crafting is rather refreshing, pretty deterministic but theres RNG that sometimes can you leave you frustrated and yet you are extremely satisfied when that switch hits just right. I feel as though they have done very well with this aspect of the game, its very feasible to gradually create a stronger character and you can do so fairly easily if you just take your time and do it the right way. The bad : UI is in my opinion just absolutely dreadful. This comes with the understanding that the game is designed for mobile but playing this on PC right now with the UI that currently exists ... it's just extremely frustrating and is one of the few games ive ever played where it makes me feel bad for playing it because of the UI. Auction house is not the entire worst aspect of the game but the fact that you really can't sort by price and the UI is just again absolutely miserable.. doesn't make me a big fan. I think when comparing the economic state of the game to something like POE , both systems feel similar in the fact that the market will ultimately have a relative supply and demand cost but when you can't sort it , it's a feels bad. Currently I assume this will change in time, but the UI is just so bad on everything in this game that I really hate having to be bothered to even use the damn thing. The confusion : So the BIGGEST CRITIQUE of the game. (at least in review sense) is pay to win. I honestly don't see a single angle where you pay to get any type of win in this game. The entire point of arpg's is to explore creating these characters and pushing them to their limits. The game offers a healthy end game with challenging boss fights that you personally can explore and conquer through free to play methods without question. The notion that the game is P2W seems to be a complete tidal wave that people ride when they simply see a cash shop option in a video game. First and foremost people need to understand that the game is free which means that money has to be generated through some type of sources. There are plenty of MTX for skills character etc to make the money on, and there's some gacha pet system that really doesn't give you enough justifiable power to consider dropping money into to get an outcome great enough to justify your spent money. Final note on this topic i've put many hours into this game and leveled myself into the mid 90's to experience the highest and hardest content in the game, I've enjoyed every moment of it and never even considered the cash shop. Any review calling the game P2W is someone who clearly has not invested themselves enough to explore the game for what it really is and they are misleading you.
