I wouldn't fucking play this game again if it were free.
> File size is larger than vanilla despite having three (3) maps
> Paid cosmetics that are nothing more than recoloured vanilla outfits ($5-$10 each)
> Horrendous Gameplay as BOTH Sides
> Zero replay value once you've played all the maps once.
> 4 Building blocks
Oh and it constantly unmutes your fucking microphone which is awful
Edit:
I played an additional 2 hours as survivors and then an additional 2 hours as zombie master to get a more developed view of the game and I still cannot recommend this.
Survivors:
The gameplay is nothing new if you've played 7dtd and 7dtd does it vastly better. The loop is pretty simple, you run around opening containers, building wooden spikes, then shooting for a few minutes during the night. It goes on for 4 nights until it abruptly ends which is kinda underwhelming.
The grind is extremely dull as you have to get hundreds of material to upgrade one weapon beyond it's first tier.
I don't want to even think about how unbelievably long it'd take to unlock all the melee and ranged weapons in this game.
Zombie Master:
Once I figured out how to actually place my zombies (Which is not intuitive nor tutorialised in-game at all. Thanks to my comments section for explaining you need to drag the zombie icons onto the map like a wierd little RTS) It was actually enjoyable.
It has a more thoughtful gameplay loop where you go around denying resources to the survivors and trying to bait them into wasting medicine and ammo on your sleepers during the day and getting them to waste time instead of fortifying.
The horde night sections are good but they're extremely easy in my experience. After some minor trial and error I never found myself losing a horde night beyond like night 2.
The HUGE downside of this gamemode is that you will never find a game because this game peaked at 366 players. I was waiting an average of 30 minutes to find a ZM lobby for an average of about 10 minutes of gameplay. That's more a symptom of TFP refusing to market their games.
So my review after 6 hours now: Still bad. Deserves it's current mostly negative review status. Had this been a $5 DLC for 7dtd it'd be 10/10 but a $20 standalone? with $10 skins that are basically just vanilla 7dtd outfits? No. Thanks. The zombie master gameplay is genuinely enjoyable but until this game can improve it's reputation and actually get a healthy playerbase, it's not worth the time investment of sitting in matchmaking for 30 minutes per game.

Not going to lie, I didn't like this when I first started playing it. but after a few games it will drew me. I hope the Wait times improve for games and some of the smaller issues like games crashing mid-game get fixed but overall, I am quite happy with this! looking forward to seeing more content from this game. Here's a video I did if you wish to see before the purchase. https://youtu.be/ErgUPDHhyBQ

Full disclosure, I've been part of the closed beta for the last few months and I love the game. There's definitely a learning curve especially if you're coming from 7dd or if you're playing as ZM but if you play for more than an hour or two you'll get the hang of it. You certainly won't have a good time if all you do is dig through the game files for 45 minutes to satisfy your nerd rage or if you've pigeonholed yourself into a 7dd youtube channel and can't find another game to monetise.
I give the game 5 thumbs up and 12/5 stars.

I'm gonna be straight up. There's a decent amount of depth to the game when it comes to unlocks and progression, but the game runs somewhat poorly. It runs like the original 7DTD but with this borderlands-ish graphical twist. I think its not worth the $17.99 at the moment and id wait for some Youtube videos to come out and watch those before you purchase. 2/10 Might be okay with friends, Highly repetitive. Disapointing.

I agree that the game's concept is solid, but since it's still in Early Access,
it clearly needs further development. I also feel the current price is excessive; in my opinion, it should be closer to $5 or $6.
Despite these issues, I thoroughly enjoyed the one round I played as a zombie.
It's essentially like Dead by Daylight, but with a great twist: instead of repairing generators, you are focused on defending your position.
I believe the fundamental idea behind the game is quite strong, and it definitely has the potential to be developed into something truly great

I love this game! It has bugs sure because of early access but the development team is hard on it! I think that being said the different ways you can build your survivor is quite extensive. There is a lot of depth in this game so far which is a really good sign. Honestly the only negative I can think of is the amount of people who don't know about this game. We need more people to download and play!

Very Good Game.
Now with that being said it is in EARLY ACCESS. So there are some bugs and kinks in the game that are still being worked out. Only so much can be done inside Beta Testing and when going from that to live run some of the previous bugs can reappear but it seems they are trying to work on those.
Kinda gives the vibe of 7 days to die, meets Left for Dead, with a bit of Dead by Daylight sprinkled in. The game is pretty straightforward at the moment of gather resources through the day survive by night. Becareful though, the Zombie Master can target and destroy your resources.
The game can get a bit repetitive and grindy. There are only so many levels to play on right now but at least each level has a differently variants scaling in how much destruction of the area has already taken place before the match starts. (ie: buildings destroyed, standing, or in states of decay.) I do believe there is room to improve in the upgrade system for ZM (Zombie Master) and the survivors, Along with the levels.
All said and done have to remember it is an Early access game. With that taken into consideration, to gameplay, mechanics, and all presentation i would say a solid 3.5 out of 5. Deffinantly needs some tweaks in both game play and some of the mechanics behind it.

But alas I am giving this game a thumbs up, only because I have a dream to make an Asymetrical zombies vs humans game and I want people to buy this so when I release my game itll shine so much brighter.
Thank you (Devs) for making something as fun to play as sliding down a slide of rusty nails would be. I hope you figure it out one day

This is goated so far. So much progress, and such an interesting gameloop. Definitely would benefit from random gen like in 7 days for more variety!
Unlock bunch of new zombies, unlock new traps (only 3 unlockable as of now), unlock a bunch of new weapons, and collect the crates to get materials to build.
Has a lil' infighting potential with who gets the materials and what's being built, but that leaves room for skill and teamwork.
Pretty cool so far- def needs more. Buy on sale!
