This game claims to be a spiritual successor to the legendary Delta Force series from the '90s and early 2000s, and actually is. It delivers. Has some work to go but the early access tag should be self explanatory.
Highly recommended for:
- Anyone who still remembers what voxel graphics are
- Millennials approaching mid-life crisis looking for purpose via long-range headshots
- Anyone who got yelled at for tying up the phone line while downloading mods

7/10 singleplayer, 2/10 multiplayer
would not recommend purely for multiplayer.
because of the "die and you lose the mission" mechanic, in multiplayer, this is a game where you walk for 10 minutes then get shot and die and have to walk another 10 mins just to die again.
in multiplayer, quicksaves are disabled, meaning you must complete the entire mission. if your team are wiped out at any point, you must redo the entire mission. there aren't even any checkpoints. luckily in singleplayer, you are able to save and load your game however you like.
furthermore, the game expects you to just walk in a straight line for kilometer after kilometer, to objective after objective. no vehicles are available to the player.
enemy AI are often able to see the player through foliage, tall grass, and trees once they have spotted the player, and will continue to track and fire at the player despite them being visually concealed.
until vehicles and/or saves are added to multiplayer, i cant recommend this to anyone looking to have a chill, Ghost Recon-like nostalgia session. dying and having to restart the entire mission over and over isn't fun for you or your friends.
the game is definitely fun in singleplayer since you can save, but the long walks between objectives leave something to be desired.

I like the concept, as someone who grew up with Delta Force, but good god is there just a tremendous amount of running huge distances from waypoint to waypoint, with f-all in between. I like military games but I don't love moving 500m in realtime with no music or much of anything to keep you company.

I was given this game by a friend after watching them play for a bit to see if it would work on my rig, which is in essence a potato with a screen and keyboard, so we could dome some Russian schmucks together.
The furthest I have been able to get in this game was the main menu, which in it of itself was a struggle to get to due to the fact the menu renders out a scrolling background, using the default settings which you can not alter through use of .cfg files. And even after getting to the settings page, as soon as you click the graphics tab, you're greeted with yet another render of the terrain, prompting my game to freeze as a whole.
For lower end users this is a death sentence because it essentially places a performance barrier on whether you get to play the game or not. Don't have the rig needed to run some settings on high or very high, the default for some parameters? Sorry, you don't get to play or adjust these settings so you're able to play. Most if not all games use the principle that if you want to compare graphics settings, you just look at the visual change in game. Something you can do after choosing a composition of settings which at least allow you to load into the friggin' game without risking a crash and burn. There is no need to send your lower end PC through the gauntlet with an immediate render in the menu just to be able to see what the difference is.
For denying me to play I can do nothing else but give this game a bad review. If the devs remove the rendered background and rendered example in the menu, or add a .cfg file to be able to change these settings from outside the game, I'd be more than glad to give it a second chance. But for now, it's a very heavy no from me.

You know what's cool? Delta Force.
You know what's not cool? The current IP owners turning it into a F2P slop title.
There's your explanation for why this game exists and what it is. They do add a lot of new(to Delta Force, because some retard couldn't figure that out) tactical shooter mechanics like leaning, an inventory system and suppression mechanics designed to scare the shit out of you when you get shot at.
If you liked those games, the only thing you'll miss is the mission editor, but they're going to add that too.
There are some negatives, for example the AI. They're dogshit stupid right now, only really capable of doing some basic activities like hiding in the grass, shooting at you, moving toward you and throwing smoke grenades. That can be fixed in due time and will be, so it's more of a temporary setback.
The crunchy PS1 style graphics. They do just mean you can't fucking actually see 100 meters away without using your binoculars. If it wasn't for the forced pixelation, the game would just objectively be better. Nostalgiac, low polygon count models? Sure. Textures that you can see the entire pixel makeup of? Absolutely. Everything blending together because there's no LOD, anisotropic filtering, mipmapping, DLAA, DLSS, etc. etc. to smooth out the image past fifty meters or so? Fucking obnoxious.
It was a flaw in the original game caused by technology and low resolution. In this one it just means you have to make liberal use of the binoculars to see anything. Generally speaking I'd prefer it if I could just use my eyes when the enemy is close enough to tongue wrestle with, but whatever.
As for the gameplay itself, it's fun, it's classic. The gear and characters are all 90's Delta Operation fair. You can even select your patches, which are ported over from Ground Branch in a weird sharing of assets.
You're a tier one operator fighting against primarily civilian militias, so they can't hit the broadside of a barn and aren't going to bust out high level organized tactics. This makes sense, it should not be changed unless they decide to add professional military opposition. It's not like Arma where a third world farmer who just grabbed a rifle for the first time can separate your skull from your spine with perfect accuracy at 500 meters without even a ranging shot.

DISCLAIMER: Super Early game-play review
Man how do I describe the vibe this game gives me ? It's like it reminds me of an old 2000s pc fps but I cant pin down which one. Its a little ghost recon, a little Rainbowsix (the old good ones) , A little dash of the early arma games and top it off with the modern comforts that make a game enjoyable.
I dove into this game knowing literally nothing about it and honestly I'm having fun. The AI seems a little silly sometimes but I found that the hard mode provided a reasonable challenge. Gun play is fun especially sniping, The drones are proving to be a favourite of mine as well. I honestly love how aiming down the scope just shows up on the side of the screen like picture in picture its a fun way to do things.
I haven't noticed many bugs yet other than every now and then my gun will fire with no muzzle flash.
I think the only thing that annoyed me was the opening helicopter rides for the tutorial and first mission arent skippable. Please fix. OH and maybe dont make me sit in the helicopter after every bloody retry ?! Just let me restart from the landing.
OH and by the way you dont have to do every challenge in the tutorial section , just walk to the chopper and you finish the tutorial. I figured that out after the 3rd bloody challenge, I suffered a psychotic break from sheer boredom. Commander d**khead asked me to shoot three targets for the 40th time and I just snapped and ran for the chopper gibbering to myself incoherently. I guess they felt sorry for me because they let me continue with the game.
Thats all for now will update when I've spent more time with it.

I'm aware this game is still under development and that it's meant to simulate the deep-behind-enemy-lines special forces type guys (after its spiritual ancestor, Delta Force) but you've got to be kidding me with some of these maps and setups.
A night stealth map with tanks that can spot me anyways? Maps where I have to traverse thousands of meters, and have to repeat the process to kill a hidden grunt? Suppression so bright it flashbangs you on desert maps?
I hate to do this but currently I'll have to give a dislike until this game's many, many problems are ironed out. I feel like once you get into the later levels (the Kumov ones) you're basically playing RNG trying to avoid tanks and their scanners. Not a fan of that. The AI is also comically Terminator-Stormtrooper, able to find where your shots are from miles away but unable to hit you at any range unless if by pure luck.

It's enjoyable, but it's not quite there yet in my opinion. Some of the other reviews seem to be referencing the classic game Delta Force, which I've never played, so maybe I just don't 'get it'.
The game is beautiful, I love the art style and aesthetic. There are lots of nice little touches like the sound (and visuals) of bullet casings dropping out after you fire. The way enemies are naturally camouflaged by the large amounts of grass is fantastic, and long-range combat is really enjoyable. I really like that you can use the range finder to quickly gauge the distance of the enemy, and then have to manually adjust the scope. The inventory system and modular weapons are also excellent.
In contrast, the short range combat feels really lacking, and it's a shame that they chose not to implement 'iron sights'. I'm guessing this may be to make it closer to the feel of 'Delta Force' or other retro games, but I found that it made short range combat quite clunky. Another gripe is that the only way to check the ammo in the magazine is to press tab and hover over the inventory. I would highly recommend implementing a system like Ready or Not where you can hold R and it just pops up "Empty / Light / Full" etc for a second or two to give you an idea of where you're at.
World wise, it's very pretty, but so so empty! The ship doesn't have any NPCs, and for the tutorial you're dropped into a base which is again completely devoid of NPCs. This then turns into a very long winded target practice session. Do I really need to do 15 sets of target practice with each weapon?
Bugs - Overlapping voice overs, especially right after the tutorial where it tells you to select a mission, and when doing so it will start to play the voice over for the tutorial, and the mission briefing. Achievements, "Start 'you' first mission", I also received the achievement for completing 5 missions after only completing 1. The Game Y mouse sensitivity is listed as "Menu Y", which does give me the impression that the game might have been slightly rushed to release.
Not a bug, but a strange design choice. The voice overs seem to have some sort of radio crackle in the background, but the actual audio itself is not augmented at all, so it sounds like they are standing right next to you.
Again, maybe I just don't get it. Maybe this is meant to be a homage to an older series of games. But that still wouldn't stop basic quality of life features and slight differences from the classics. It's an enjoyable game that's clearly made with love, but I feel it needs a bit.. more.

This game was made by a very autistic individual who not only loves the games that inspired this game to come out but also does them justice.
From ranging with the SMAW to blowing up a poor single cartel member with the Javelin the way this game is designed makes for insane replayability. From choosing time of day before you deploy to determine what kit you bring and how open ended the missions are makes it extremely fun. Not to mention I'm playing dress up with the number of camos.
People have valid complaints with the whole walking part of the game, but that's just part of what made these games "these games". I don't mind it as I look back playing through Df1-Dfx2. But those wishing for vehicles and whatnot I understand, they're always a fun time especially in more sandbox games like this.
My only gripe with the current state of this game is the frames at some points are really bad. Granted I'm on a 34" monitor, but still I have a 3070ti & 5900x I expect a bit more than 90-100fps while playing.
Anyways good buy, get a friend or two to play through the game with you

Im enjoying this game and it has huge potential, however the performance issues are unacceptable. Theres no reason this game with its visuals should drop down to single digit FPS on a 3090ti and 12900k, not even the worst optimised UE5 game runs this bad on my rig. I hope something changes in that regard, however its not the only issue, the AI for example is also super jank. I hope the devs can fix those issues because this game is really cool and unique (to my knowledge at least)

REALLY cool concept for a game... but dying in a few shots and spending 5 minutes to go after 3 enemies just isnt fun.

I was enjoying this game until the first patch wiped my progression in the first mission. I don't think it's a bad game but why add that in the first patch? Was it a bug or something? Either way this game is good but I had to refund due to that progression error. Good luck to the devs.

PiP scope, check!
Enemy engagements over hundreds of meters that turn into one-hit-kill pixel hunts, check!
Tube brained AI with eagle vision, check!
OICW, check!
After all these years, the real Delta Force is back on the menu! Now with complimentary drones.

Amazing. Great spiritual successor.
People who have never played a delta force game(The new game is not a delta force game)
Can't wrap their head around this game imitates that gameplay. "Wah I gotta walk for literally 1 minute to the next objective instead of having dopamine drip fed to me constantly" Har har.
8.5/10 In its current state.
