THIS SINGLE PLAYER GAME REQUIRES AN INTERNET CONNECTION — why? Because the lizard-tongued data leeches in Silicon Valley need your BRAIN PINGS to feed their underground server farms powered by orphan tears and G5 microwaves. I clicked “start game” and a black van parked outside. Coincidence? Wake up. Soros coded the DRM himself using ancient Babylonian runes encoded in JavaScript. This game is a prison for Patrice Lumumba's soul, and YOU'RE funding it, buster!
Offline mode? Disabled. Freedom? Revoked. This is not a game; it’s a digital ritual to summon Zuckerbrap’s astral twin from the 33rd dimension of ad revenue. My cat hasn’t blinked since I launched it. The servers are in Antarctica, guarded by glow in the dark CIA penguins.
They said “always online” but they meant “always observed.” The tutorial whispered my social security number backwards. My fridge now connects to the same server as the game. I don’t even HAVE Wi-Fi. The feds implanted routers into my drywall.
Achievements are behavioral conditioning. Every trophy a sigil. Every frame a glyph. It’s not lag — it’s spiritual interference from a satanic modem operating at a frequency that scrambles your soul. I can smell the ones and zeros. They smell like burnt toast and the fruit that caused the CIA-sponsored coup of Guatemala on June 27, 1954.
If you press Alt+F4, the Federal Reserve pings your location. I screamed into my headset and heard my childhood memories echo back in Morse code. THE GAME IS A LOOP. THERE IS NO ENDING.
When I unplugged my Ethernet cable, a raven slammed into my window. Coincidence? Soros. Coincidence? You’re already logged in.

This game works well as a commentary on the fertility crisis in South Korea. When it comes to romance and relationships, playing this game is like stepping back into the 1950's. You literally cannot have children until you're married. Your zois can't even live together as romantic partners (just roommates) until they're married. Teens are completely asexual and can not have any romantic interactions with each other like they can in The Sims 4. Until your zoi is married all they can do is eat, work and sleep, which I guess explains why no one in SK is having kids.
Zois who are attracted to the same gender have it even worse. They can't even marry (just become "partners") and since all townies are straight by default and all teens turn straight when leveling up into adults, there are no romance options outside of zois you create yourself.

Overall it's ok, but the biggest no-no for me is how all the NPCs are cis despite the fact that they put nonbinary option for gender and preference. I literally can't date anybody at all because I picked nonbinary as my gender, and all the NPCs are straight. I understand they're still working on the relationship, but if nonbinary/same-sex relationship is not available right now, then there is no need for the option to choose preference/have nonbinary as gender during Character Customization.
Now, why wouldn't I change the preference in the middle of the game? Because players can't do that lol. Players can only pick gender and preference during CC. So if you're non-binary/picked same-sex relationship preference and is far ahead in the game, you have no choice but to make a new save or wait for a patch that fix this (this is what happened to me).
As someone who knows how game development works, I understand that there are some feature that are not ready. But this is a sims game, and relationship is one of the main highlights of most sims games. Same-sex relationship and having nonbinary preference is extremely basic when it comes to relationship in a sims game. It's a bit disappointing how they have all kinds of minor interaction with NPCs but can't even cover the basic relationship stuff.
Rating might change if they're fixing this issue. Maybe.

It's impossible to have a gay couple in the simulation. Every pre made zoi is straight by default and it can't be changed naturally and cheats aren't added yet so you can't change other zoi's preferences. Also no adoption feature yet. Basically the only way to have a gay couple is to make the couple yourself because it's seemingly impossible for your gay zoi to meet any other gay zoi in the entire game. Also, if you do make a gay couple there is seemingly no way to have kids. What you could technically do is just go into create a zoi to manually make a child and pretend they had it themselves but since cheats aren't added yet there is seemingly no way to have kids as a gay couple. It's so annoying that they go to some lengths to include LGBTQ+ people in the game by letting you identify as non binary and change which genders you're attracted to (or none of them) but they make it impossible to actually live out your life as a gay zoi. Playing as a non binary zoi must also suck because pre made zois are only attracted to the opposite gender. That means even if you want to throw in the towel and go for a straight relationship non binary zois are just locked out of any relationships ever. If you want to make a gay couple then the game is unplayable until they add adoption and cheats (may according to road map). You will probably also need to wait for the modding kit to come out so someone will add a mod that randomizes zoi sexualities. Look out for updates but for now the game is unplayable, at least for how I play the game.

it's not as simple as a yes or no here. honestly, this game has some really innovative and funny stuff in it. the 3D object creator is awesome, the AI emotes and other generation options are very cool. the game itself looks really pretty. the level of customization is literally off the charts.
but the thing is, there isn't really any content to play right now. so if you don't enjoy designing houses, zois, your city, or furniture/clothing assets and such, then you aren't going to have fun with this yet. it really isn't a "game" yet, there are really only the creative sandbox tools right now. looking forward to the future potential of the game but right now, even though i personally am going to enjoy this, i would say do not buy, wait for updates.

I was super excited for this game and extremely pleased with their decision to remove Denuvo.. However I'm going to have to refund it since they have bent the knee to the alphabet mob and added nonbinary as an option as well as gay romance (previously they had none of these). It's unfortunate that the company decided to listen to a very small portion of their community in order to feed into mental illness, and now I'm hearing that they are also blocking people who post complaints regarding it. That is more or less the straw on the camel's back for me - I'm out.

I hope this review does what it is intended to do, to help improve the game.
So far, I do not recommend this game and for several reasons:
#1 NOTHING TO DO
I fully realize that some stickler is going to drive-by this review and either laugh because of this or leave a nasty comment, but it IS the truth. Besides going to work, cleaning your house, and interacting with other sims in pointless socials, there is nothing else to do in the game - literally. You can go to the beach and socialize. You can go to a volleyball court and socialize. You can socialize, but there is nothing else to do. Can you swim or tan at the beach? No. Can you play a game of volleyball? No.#2 YOU'LL CLEAN MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE
It's seriously broken. After a few in-game days, everything gets dirty within an in-game hour after you clean it: Your clothes, your house, etc. If you make the mistake of saving a clothing loadout while one of the loadouts are dirty, all of your clothes will be dirty, FOREVER until you completely delete every loadout and re-dress them.#3 THEY SAID THERE WOULD BE NO RABBIT HOLES
Yet, everything is a rabbit hole. This game was specifically hyped at being a sim that you could go explore and see your characters working. That was not true. There is no more than 1 usable/editable building/lot per "region". Everything else is a rabbit hole or entirely decorative. Many of the houses and buildings you will find will be impossible to build or even interact with because they're simply not really there.#4 THEY SAID I COULD WALK TO WORK
Notice how I said "regions" above? No matter what it is you do, it will happen outside of your home's region which means you get a load screen whether you walk, drive, etc. You cannot simply joy-ride around town. And when you go to work? You simply walk outside your house, and disappear in front of a taxi. That Taxi never moves (much like how you travel before buying a car with busses, the bus simply never moves and is entirely static).SUMMARY (and a small list of things they got right)
I could keep going on various points of why this game is lacking. Simply put, if you're planning on buying this game to replace the Sims franchise, don't bother. This game is easily compared to a very basic and stripped down version of Sims 4 without any expansions whatsoever. In fact the karma system in this game is one of the most annoying features of the game. The game prompts you that you have to keep the town's karma from sinking too low and when it does something bad happens to your game. This requires you to begin micromanaging your game or changing world settings to that sims are all "good". There is no wonder why Maxis avoided systems like this. I will be fair and also state that the graphics are a huge upgrade from the sims franchise. But that's about all the praise I can give this game in it's current state. So, no. I cannot recommend this game.64 votes funny

OMG, this game is LIT… but, hope there will be offline mode support. It's really frustrating not being able to access the game when the internet is down...
Some awkward moments:
First off—WHY can’t my character undress properly?! Like, sis just sits on the toilet with her whole outfit on? And don’t even get me started on showering in a towel like it’s some magic trick. 💫✨ BESTIE, just poof the clothes away and slap on some pixelation! We know how this works—The Sims did it decades ago! 😤 And ICECREAM DRAMA! Why can’t I walk and lick at the same time?! WASD is RIGHT THERE! Let me live my best snacking life, not just sit there like a NPC with no rizz. Library dude be USELESS! I asked for book recs and he hit me with… silence. BABE. At least pretend to care! Gimme a pop-up like: "You look sad, here’s a Joke Book!" or "Bestseller Alert: Hot Vampire Romance!" JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING! TAXI FANTASY UNLOCK WHEN? 🚖 If I can buy cars, LET ME Hail a CAB! And make it FABULOUS—sassy characters flagging it down with attitude, shy ones nervously waving… AND DYNAMIC PRICING! 💸 Downtown = $$$, Sketchy Alley = "Girl, RUN." Hope there will be offline mode support. It's really frustrating not being able to access the game when the internet is down... FINAL VERDICT: 8/10, BUT FIX THE IMMERSION BREAKERS!51 votes funny

Here's the TLDR;
1. Camera controls are very annoying
2. City Karma system in it's current state feels pointless and, once again, annoying.
3. Specific information is hard to get.
4. Progression is heavily unbalanced.
5. Content is unbalanced and inconsequential.
6. Be nice to each other. These kind of reviews are necessary for the game to flourish.
Pre-review disclaimer (why do I even need to do this) : In an effort to reduce toxicity and people throwing bricks at each other in the comments, let me preface this review with a few words.
Yes, I know the game just released, and yes I know it's early access (and what that entails). This review is here AND negative because it has more chance for the devs to see it and do something about it since it sticks out. Yes that might lose them a few sales, but honestly, you can't make a good omelette without breaking a few eggs first.
I genuinely believe the devs will make this a great game. That's why I'm pointing these flaws out because they WILL turn a lot of people away and they need to be addressed ASAP in my opinion. If you also believe like I did, then buy the game. You'll pay it at a lesser price and you'll help fund the devs. If you are cautious however (which is understandable because of the literal SEA of games that never got out of Early Access), then don't buy the game yet. Wait for these issues to be fixed. This has all been mentioned in the comments by me and other people but since comments slide away really quickly, I decided to put it up here at the top.
Be nice to each other. There's enough strife in the world as it is.
Now for the actual review :
I like this game and the idea of it, but with all the praise it's getting I have to play devil's advocate here and point out the obvious flaws that needs to be addressed. This is going to be a wall of text, sorry about that.
1. Let's start with the worst offender, the camera.
Right now, it's in a weird state of wanting to be character focused but also give the possibility of looking around like in a management game. This is VERY annoying because trying to use controls that usually works in management games (i.e.: WASD or the arrow keys) moves the character instead AND cancels their interactions, but then trying to control the entire game focused on the character doesn't work either, because you can't interact with things around you unless you click on them with the mouse, like in a management game.
I think there needs to be either a split or more customisation possibilities. Either have the game in "Management Mode" where whipping the camera around is a breeze with all the usual controls of a management game or "Character Mode" where everything is focused on the character will all the features of a third person game when you can interact with stuff around with a keyboard button like E, etc. And let us either switch easily between these modes or add customisation options to allow more complex configurations.
I want to be clear though, I really like the fact that we can have a more character focused control set. Don't get rid of that. It's novel and interesting.
2. Next up is the City Karma system.
This one is really confusing, because when overall Karma in the city is low, the game keeps threatening you to do something about it or you will meet the CEO and there will be consequences. But when you just want to control one character and, once again, do character focused things, this just gets in the way of that and moves your attention towards something you can barely even control. What if we WANT to play a character that is an absolute jackass? Now this one is a bit less bad because I've seen sliders that can be controlled for the overall city, and there are sliders for pushing people to be more karma positive or negative, but why even have the threat then? Why not just let a city degenerate into horrible Karma if the player wants to? Whats the point of the system if it can be countered by moving a slider to the right and another to the left?
And also, doing this makes everyone a goody two shoes, which is just boring to be honest. It's problematic because even with just the default settings, the city almost immediately becomes bad with Karma and you get the CEO threat. I've seen no amount of positive interactions with problematic Zois really "put them back onto the right path". It's really annoying when all you want is mind your own business and do your own thing, which is the whole point of the genre in the end IMO.
3. This is more abstract, and it's about the amount of specific information the game gives you.
How long will University last? Who knows. All you get are the days and time you'll go there. What do you get for completing University? No idea! Is it even possible? How much does it cost to attend? F if I know. It doesn't seem to cost anything but I always get that weird feeling that there's going to be a price tag somewhere at some time.
University is clearly the worst at that one, but not the only offender. This one we can easily put under the "Early Access" excuse but it still has to be mentioned.
4. The progression. (Edited already, since I had no idea we could change day length)
Days are 4x longer than the direct competitor, Sims (96 minutes on normal speed vs 24 minutes in The Sims). There are ways to adjust that, down to 2x longer (48 minutes) and up to a full one to one 24h long day. That's pretty cool, but its one hell of a whiplash when you compare these possibly MUCH longer days to how fast you can get things done. You can very easily become super soul-mates with someone else in about 4 to 5 REAL minutes, regardless of how you set the time. School and careers advance super quickly as well, making you THE best student/employee in about 3 in-game days (on 96h setting, no idea if other settings change that).
Edit : There is a way to tune relationships now it seems, but careers and skills are still a no go.
Right now, setting the time to 48 minutes seems to have the best balance although I haven't tested much, but it seems already balanced to be at 24 minutes days like in the sims even though you can't even get to that setting. I wish there was ways to tune the progress just like you can tune the time, because it all feels a bit too fast right now. Also a 24 minutes option would be nice, as it'd give a more sims-like pace for those of us who have been used to "The Woke 4". (thank the troll bots in the comments for that one)
5. And finally, the content.
This one can also be blamed on Early Access. Right now there's a bunch of things, but it all seems inconsequential and/or not really fun to accomplish. There is a clear imbalance in the usefulness of skills as well, where the writing skill "Critical Thinking" seems very important, but you can just sell books for about 50 to 100$ most of the time even with pretty high skill and you don't really get any royalties. Meanwhile, with painting, you can make 4000$ worth paintings in about the same time and investment spent. There's also a skill about coffee making, for some reasons. Priorities seems to be very scattered for now, and the whole game has a very "rough" feeling to it compared to other Early Access games I've played over the years.
Overall, with the current price tag, I'd skip it (edit : if you're cautious of Early Access.) Especially since all the BEST features of the game are literally in the demo (edit: which was just available for a short time when looking at streams of inzoi, which leads me to believe that the developers might know this as well).
I'll be waiting a couple updates, and I'll edit this review when stuff gets fixed and/or broken as it does.

Maybe.

According to their TOS you don't own the game, and if KRAFTON doesn't like how you play it they will uninstall the game for you.
I unfortunately saw it too late and can't refund it anymore.

I want to give a W to the devs for removing Denuvo, making the game now run better and without hindrance to the future of modding.
They've shown to listen to community feedback multiple times and make not only the changes needed, but in a timely manner too.
The future looks bright for inZOI.

Here's the TLDR;
