EDIT:

Apparently on 12/19/24, 2 WEEKS after I made this review, this is STILL an issue!

Installs Kernel Level Spyware! AntiCheatExpert! Seems more invasive and conflicts with Easy-Anti Cheat, which itself is also kernel-level. ACE, even when this game was NOT running and was UNINSTALLED, and the 'ACE' service STOPPED was interfering with my ability top open an EAC game. THAT WAS THE ISSUE!! I received the error message, "Please close ACE-BASE before launching" IF you uninstall the game, it still keeps these services on your system. I found out there hard way when I went to open up another game and received an error pertaining to 'ACE-BASE'.

DO NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS IF YOU PLAN TO PLAY THIS

To remove: Open CMD in administrator mode and enter these commands: sc delete ACE-GAME sc delete ACE-BASE sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Service" sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Protection" And of course restart your PC to finalize the deletions

Before I played this i had a small penis, no girlfriend and no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.

Update: The Aussie account problem has been fixed, however the game is now marred by terrible consumer support on the official discord, and a community that is not worth the time or effort to deal with. So far the game is full of Micro transaction crap, it honestly runs terribly on my rig, constant frame drops and stuttering, and a crash in the time i got to play, which shredded my already short patience, (My rig is 4070Ti, 7800x3d, 32 gig ram). To me its just not worth the time or Hard Disk space. It is also kernel level anti-cheat, doesn't bother me as its doesn't seem to have the same effects Denuvo does for example, so make of that one what you want. The game is free so it wont hurt to try it, if you're interested, but its just not for me. I'm just gonna stick with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Edited for spelling mistake Original Review: If you're an Aussie don't bother we aren't even recognised as a country to make an account to play. The discord mods and support just ignore you when you ask about it, not worth even attempting at this point. Will update if this changes. but given the treatment i got on the official discord when i asked about this i doubt they will bother to fix the issue.

The game installs kernel level anticheat without telling you (you just click yes for admin rights). After game uninstall, the game DOES NOT remove the kernel level anticheat. I can see all the files in C:\Program Files\AntiCheatExpert and all the services (AnticheatExpert Protection, AnticheatExpert Service) still in my pc. DO NOT INSTALL THIS GAME. I've seen the devs responded to other reviews, would love to see them respond to this and see them make excuses for why they're leaving kernel level services active in my pc. Anticheat expert was installed on my pc with this game, I don't play any other game that has this, the uninstall should have removed everything it installed, especially kernel level stuff.

Kernel Level Anti Cheat (spyware). Had to do this to delete it... Open CMD in administrator mode and enter these commands: sc delete ACE-GAME sc delete ACE-BASE sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Service" sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Protection" EDIT: To all the people commenting, 'you play other games with kernel, you need to delete those too', those are paid, i know how they are making money, this is a free game, which concerns me a little since free games more commonly sell your data. Play it if you want, I am choosing not to, and just posted this to tell others about the Kernel. Also, since the company is Chinese (TiMi is a subsidiary of Tencent), they are required to comply with CCP orders, which is not okay in combination with kernel, and has been a problem in the past with games like Valorant.

I thoroughly enjoy playing this game. It has a lot going for it. However the Anti-Cheat constantly runs on your PC even if you haven't run the game yet. Anti Cheat Expert (ACE) stops you from launching any games with Easy Anti Cheat (EAC). This is ridiculous, a game should not have ANY effect on my PC when its closed, FULL STOP.

The last Battlefield game I played was BF4, the last Delta Force was Land Warrior. So far, this game has soothed the itch that I've missed from both of these games. It's fun, exciting, and shows the potential to grow. Time will tell, but until then it's F2P so you can make your own opinion about it without any major commitment. No one's gonna read this anyway so i'll do 1 push-up for every like.

Region lock China players, I can confirm 90% of all players you think are cheating comes from the same place, even more evident when they try shooting you through walls in a game with no wallbang, banning them is pointless, there’s more of them then there are sperm in my bollocks, I’ve reported 7 very glaring cheaters so far and no actions have been taken, i guess its normal to beam people with a uzi through smokes or try shooting through walls and floors fucking idiots, even better are the ones that are literally just hunting players, sick bastard had 10 name tags on him when I fucking shot his shriveled up cock with a shotgun when he tried to jump shot me. Other than that, good game I guess.

Kernel-level file(s) remain after uninstallation

Despite assurances from Tencent Holdings, a Chinese state-affiliated entity, that the issue of leftover kernel-level files had been fixed, this problem still persists. After uninstalling the game, I found that it continued to leave behind at least one kernel-level file on my system. Tencent previously claimed that this was a bug, yet here we are, still facing the same issue. For those who have already uninstalled the game, follow these steps (credit to mohissa0441m and miltoid19_cat) to ensure the full removal of the leftover files: <*>Uninstall the game. <*>Restart your PC. <*>Open Command Prompt as Administrator. <*>Enter the following commands:
sc delete ACE-GAME
sc delete ACE-BASE
sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Service"
sc delete "AntiCheatExpert Protection"
<*>Restart your PC again to finalise the removal of the above kernel-level files.

Cheating allegations:

I took part in the playtest for this game and clocked many hours on it. I didn't cheat in that playtest, nor did I cheat in the live game. My record in Delta Force and other Steam games is clean. <@clownfacejoe + @dead asf ry + @shadez>

Leftover file problem being "fixed"

At least one kernel-level file remained after I uninstalled the game. Hence, there is a need to follow the command prompt instructions to remove all kernel-level files relating to ACE. <@terezapa>

About the game itself

Beyond the security concerns, Delta Force is a bizarre rip-off of:
  • Battlefield 2042 (2021)
  • Battlefield V (2018)
  • modern Call of Duty games (2022 to present)
  • Escape from Tarkov (2017 to present)
While some players may enjoy this bizarre mishmash of a game, I simply don't. I sincerely believe this game is not a good use of your PC's processing, power consumption, and storage space.

This is a really fun game with great elements to it. BUT the c**t mouth cheaters will ruin it for you. I often see devs sending mail about banning this and that but it still has insane amount of cheaters. Even if devs ban the cheaters who killed me, it doesn't help because all my items are lost and all the fun is gone. Honestly ruining a perfectly fine game. There should be some compensation in terms of in-game money if I died to a c**t cheater who's just running around jumping and taking headshots like wtf? Otherwise what's the point. of playing? I really wanted to keep playing this game but it's just too much annoyance. If you're a cheater reading this. F**k you, you c**t mouth son of a w***e.

Game shouldn't have SBMM, its a large scale shooter similar to Battlefield which has NEVER had SBMM. Remove it from unranked play before your game dies.

The game itself is pretty solid, solid enough that I bought 2 battle-passes for it to support the developers. But lately I started getting random popups saying "Our System detected irregular data activity on your account. For your characters's security, you have been temporarily logged out. Please ensure compliance with the proper gaming practices". This is Tencent for "You have been banned". The bans have been from 1 minute to 1 hour, but today it was 24 hours. I've been gaming for 20 years at least, never used a cheat, and never will. I've searched high and low on all forums to figure out which random piece of driver or software on my PC is causing this random behavior. I uninstalled most things that could cause this issue, but it persists. Their anti-cheat is broken, and I'm done throwing time and money at this game. Do your research, and you will find there are lot of people out there who threw money at the game, but got randomly banned. I can only urge you not to get caught in the same trap I did. I do not use VPN, or have VPN software on my PC. My steam level is hidden due to privacy, but currently at level 17. I do not say anything in chat or voice in general. Only in Discord. Update May 2025: One of my friends and me just got banned simultaneously tonight. Easy Anti-Cheat: Your PC is perfect, go right ahead. Even Balance, Punkbuster: We see no issues, you're free to go. N-protect: GameGuard: Launch that Helldivers 2 right up, sir. Riot Vanguard: You may pass. Valve Anti-Cheat: No issues here! Anti-Cheat Expert: Get out you dirty cheat! eh...? ____WEIRD CLUES__________ - I've always been banned Saturday or Sundary, never on weekdays - It's always the same unclear message - New Windows account with no other software running than Steam+DF does not fix it I do NOT recommend this game since it comes with an overly sensitive anti-cheat that is basically broken, and if you invest money and lose your account without explanation it is just tough luck.

"Anti-Cheat Expert's Windows kernel module "ACE-BASE.sys" version 1.0.2202.6217 does not perform proper access control when handling system resources. This allows a local attacker to escalate privileges from regular user to System or PPL level." - NIST CVE-2024-22830 It is like a security guard not locking the door properly. This means someone who is already on the computer (like another program) can sneak through the unlocked door and take control of the entire system. Once they do, they can act like the "boss" of the computer, messing with important files or doing things they're not supposed to. It's like a regular employee suddenly being able to act like the CEO without permission. Even if the game looks fun, this could let bad actors sneak into your computer and take it over. They could, - Steal your personal information. - Mess up your files. - Use your computer for bad things without you knowing. So, downloading this game could be risky unless the dev fixed the "backdoor" in that file. It's better to wait for them to confirm it's safe or AVOID it altogether.

Allow me to explain most of the Downvotes: - Salty Battlefield fanboys - Salty wannabe cheaters because "Kernel Level Anticheat" (Ppl usually complain about it but then proceeds to play games like LoL and Valorant that does the same stuff) - Aussies got done dirty in account creation. Play the game yourself to see if you will enjoy, because if you just follow reviews nowadays you are cooked.

So far, I am enjoying this game. It has a lot going for it, especially since it's free. However, it faces two significant problems related to the anti-cheat. First, it's ineffective, and 80% of lobbies are rampant with cheaters. And more importantly, it constantly runs on your PC even if you haven't RUN the game yet. Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) stops you from launching any games with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC). This is beyond ridiculous. A game should not affect your PC when it's CLOSED.

Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) by Tencent. Might not uninstall after uninstalling the game according to some reports. Devs claim this is fixed. Its currently unknown what this software does on your system and what other information it sends. https://80.lv/articles/delta-force-installs-kernel-level-spyware-anti-cheat-on-your-pc/ Will play again if they implement a different anti-cheat tool. Game itself is not bad.

"A nostalgic revival of tactical FPS greatness!" Delta Force brings back the classic tactical shooter experience, but with a modern twist. As someone who enjoyed the original series, this reboot feels like a love letter to fans while also being accessible to new players. The large-scale battles are truly impressive, combining wide-open maps with a variety of objectives that demand both strategy and skill. Whether you’re sneaking through enemy lines or engaging in all-out firefights, the gameplay keeps you on your toes. The freedom to approach missions in your own way is a standout feature, making every operation feel fresh and personal. Visually, the game looks great. The updated graphics capture the intensity of combat while maintaining the spirit of the original series. The sound design also deserves praise, with immersive effects that pull you into the battlefield. One of the highlights for me is the multiplayer mode. It’s chaotic, intense, and incredibly fun, especially with friends. Teamwork is key, and the variety of roles and equipment ensures every player can contribute meaningfully to the mission. While there’s room for improvement in some areas, like AI behavior and mission variety, Delta Force successfully revives a classic franchise with modern enhancements. If you’re a fan of tactical shooters or looking for a break from more arcade-style FPS games, this is a must-try.

For Suckers

There will be a TL;DR at the end. ~ Everyone here should know - if not already - that this Free To Play experience uses a Kernel-Level Anti-Cheat. Which, if you don’t know, is the equivalent to signing the rights to your computer away to a corporation. More on that later. Although my expectations were nonexistent for this title, I’m still very aggrieved and disgusted by it. It opens up a launcher from steam with its own account and login that is separate - meaning your Steam is not the platform used - but a third party program. Ew. What’s even more of a killer is the paperwork you have to sign in order to get into this game. Sign a shady EULA, some concerning Terms Of Service, and two separate Privacy Policy papers that essentially strap a bomb to your computer and any notion of self sovereignty. The paperwork is the stuff of nightmares, and is the first massive, major, huge red flag. It’s “Put me in your will and take out a massive life insurance policy before our honeymoon” levels of scary. I don’t think anyone is talking about this particular aspect of the game since its launch, but I just have to say it here: I’ve been making game reviews and reading them with passion and interest for the past 13 years. I’ve been scrolling through YouTube comments and social media since they were ever a thing - and everything surrounding this game gives weird, AI levels of unnatural vibes. Here are examples of statements NO sane consumer has said in a review ever, but are repeated constantly about Delta Force: ”Nobody will read this positive review, so upvote me!” - a common manipulation tactic used in TikTok and Twitter, clearly to bury negative comments. “There are no hackers anywhere! That’s why I keep coming back” - said no human being at the launch of a new game. Clearly a ploy to make the anti-cheat look better in spite of the fact that no playerbase feels the sting of cheaters early on. ”China already has our information anyway, so why is everyone complaining?” - I couldn’t make that up even if I was a spy. ”The game is incredible! It looks great and sounds great! No bugs and very fun! Delta Force is phenomenal!” - copy and paste HR approved sales jargon. ”Only little babies are worried about the anti-cheat” - said nobody who ever owned a computer. ”Kids complaining about giving away Kernel access are unfun nerds and bad at the game!” - typical bullying, but around this kind of topic? Doubt. “Don’t listen to negative reviews” with no further talk - as if written by a marketing director themselves. ”It isn’t pay-to-win!” - The only reason anyone plants this thought into the minds of buyers is to justify preying on the weak-willed. ”Why do people even listen to reviews? If it's fun I don't write a review, I just keep playing!” - like ??? The entire vibe given off by positive Reviews and comments surrounding Delta Force feel like AI bots too stupid and creepy to be real are generating this stuff. There certainly are valid positive reviews, but after having read tons of review spreads in my many years doing this as a hobby, I’ve never seen such a concerted effort to brainwash as around this game. It’s weird. What makes it worse is when you look at the negative reviews down here on Steam and see that the developers have responded en masse to invalidate actual criticism and shoot down all negativity specifically in negative or cautionary reviews. ***Even THIS review - the devs use their authority to devalue and redirect rather than address the legitimacy of concerns** You look online and content creators are hitting this game in droves during release, but the content is often forced and uncanny - obviously sponsored and staged content. I mean, you look online for gameplay and you get weird, uncanny voice overs from awkward gameplay - like footage straight out of those awful E3 trailers where “players” do that ‘gamer communication” and talk to each other in direct, dispassionate, and paced out dialogue lines. It’s like the execs and marketing companies don’t understand that this isn’t how actual humans playing video games actually sound. And, on release - with absolutely 0 proof of solvency for the product, Tencent has some $1,000,000 shady contest to con vulnerable players into playing the game? Like, the most predatory and unashamedly evil way to trick as many people as possible into blindly signing a contract and giving away the agency of their own computer? It’s scummy and pure evil. I’ve honestly seen enough scams to know the blows, and to see the red flags around this. The aura of this product isn’t natural, it isn’t organic or reasonable. A massive company has some of the most concerning legal talk in their numerous paperwork policies with a spyware virus added to your computer… has brainwashing comments surrounding it from all sides and an ocean of garbage content about it… and is offering a massive paycheck to trick impressionable minds into downloading the game. This was not going to get a recommendation out the gate, but let’s talk about the game itself… Delta Force has a lot of negatives baked into the cake; expensive cosmetics being shoved in your face, industry standard user-hostile battle pass, predacious and scummy aura obviously aimed to con kids and the weak minded out of their cash. It’s another live-service game, and a hungry one too. But the worst part about the game - the absolute worst part - is that… it’s Battlefield It’s Battlefield. No I mean, what are you even doing here, you should be playing Battlefield levels of “I AM Battlefield” What more do you want? What more do you expect? If you love the franchise, you already own a version of this game without horrible battlepasses and ripoff skins. It’s in your library. If you don’t own Battlefield or don’t know what it is, you can go and play Battlefield 4 - hell, you can go get Battle Bit - and have the same experience without selling your soul to a greedy mega-corperation. And that’s really the worst part. It’s not a bad game. It doesn’t look or sound bad - but also not particularly amazing. It seems good, it plays nice enough, and there’s clear enjoyment that can be had. The cons simply outweigh the benefits by a long mile. It simply doesn’t get past the sniff test. Delta Force is a product that manages to be transparently evil, astonishingly unoriginal, and only nominally enjoyable. I would possibly rest easy knowing that SOME players that are willing to sign away their computers may be sacrificing for some incredible game, but it just isn’t. It’s not even a bad gameplay experience, it’s just unextraordinary. It’s nothing that games from Battlefield’s history haven’t done eloquently over a decade ago. It’s honestly not something that you cannot experience with other modern shooter games in a sense. The crime is not merely being a “fairly good” experience, it’s asking for something as hefty as the sovereignty of your own property in exchange for an “okay” game that is easily replaced by already existing products. ~

TL;DR

1.5/10 Delta Force is a Repugnant game. While the gameplay itself might be worthy of a solid 6 or 6.5 - there is no hiding that this application is clearly poison. Even if they remove the spyware, this is nothing to come back to like a hungry dog. It’s just yet another live-service scummy game that will ‘inconvenience’ and pressure you to dish out your cash - after you sign over your rights, self respect, and basic dignity to some shady overseas corpo exec. You may be excited to play “FTP Battlefield 4” - but is it really worth cutting off your nuts and getting on your knees to lick boots and beg for it? It isn’t. Don’t be that guy.
