Went in blind expecting some kind of revenge story that led to the character gaining his ability and then needing to get revenge for some intriguing or deep plot defining story hook.
Instead this is just the story of another generic loser that is the staple of most VN protagonists. A pathetic character trying to live out a revenge porn fantasy. If this was real life, I'd bully the guy too. A story should not make you sympathize with the antagonists against the protagonist.

Now, im very new to the VN scene.
the most of my knowledge of them just coming from random transfem video analysis videos on YT as a pass out at night.
i thought this game was just going to be more oriented towards the edgy guro revenge shi, which i did come across but the smut just taints the experience for me, which wouldn't even have been such a problem if i liked any of the story beats/ twists at all.
i thought the whole premise with the mind reading ability would be used more cleverly but it feels very barebones, which i believe is almost purposely done because of how rash the MC acts but- it in turn just leaves me insanely bored and makes most outcomes super predictable.
I will compliment the music/art, especially the UI design. i would say the u.i. expresses your characters emotion of isolation, anxiety quite well.
im sure this VN is peoples thing, but the only people i can imagine finding joy from this is actual degens/ people wanting to just say they've played so they get some VN cred.
leaving with that, i wouldn't recommend this game.

I really liked Totono and the plot devices are things that you can do interesting things with. Been trying to avoid spoilers mostly for stuff so haven't looked at much of it. The art style is good as well (for what you see of it). Seriously, I get the main character looks down most of the time but 70% of the novel is just staring at his shoes. This guy does deserved to be bullied he's the most insufferable person of all time lol. He'll, I could even get behind some of the stuff it's doing, accept it on it's own level. Even then, it pretty much just repeats itself every 30 minutes. Protag meets girl, he gets angry and revenge rapes. 3/10

Imagine receiving a lecture on empathy from one of the most emotionally and mentally stunted incels ever to be penned into existence.
Before ripping too deeply into this VN, let me give credit to the few positives that can be wrung from this dirty rag of an experience:
To put it bluntly, the main character is an unrepentant, self-pityingrapist. It was disturbing reading a large quantity of graphically depicted rape from the perspective of someone who clearly enjoys the act of raping an unwilling victim. Tanezaki (the main character) wields this act like weapon he uses to bludgeon any woman who crosses his path and makes him feel negatively about himself, intended or not.
There is a total lack of reasoning behind the events that happen in the game. Tanezaki snaps over a minor wrong committed against him at the beginning of the game, and takes that opportunity to immediately escalate into a full-blown rapist. This is so ridiculous that it reads like he is using the circumstance as an excuse to fully fling himself into what he sees as a justified response. This sets a poor starting point for the VN, as any reasonable person would be left confused and annoyed by his selfish and frankly unbelievable actions.
His inner monologues are unbearable. I don't mind the repetitive text, but his thoughts have the depth and complexity of three rabid, porn-addled raccoons in a trenchcoat. Tanezaki has a terminal case of whatever the opposite of post-nut clarity is. He is tortured by the idea that everyone else finds him hideously ugly , and he never lets you forget it. This obsession blinds him to the fact that he is the nasty little gremlin everyone sees him as, and not because he's physically ugly.
Most of the endings, save one, do manage to show the fact that Tanezaki has a gift for ruining the lives of every person he comes in contact with. Each of the heroine's endings, aside from the true route, end in the total destruction of each girl. The true route is the only "happy" ending, I say "happy" in quotes because the reality of the situation is a nightmare. The writers expect you to be happy that a couple of mentally unwell rapists are have a pair of twins, all while leading you to believe up until the last second that they are blood-related siblings.
I would give this novel more credit if it were able to examine the subject matter in more depth and truly explore the concept to it's bounds, but sadly it falls flat. Despite the intense situations depicted, it was a struggle to feel anything in the face of this novel, besides mild disgust. The overwhelming mediocrity does more to hurt it than anything else. Nothing new was unearthed here. It fails to be fun, it fails to be philosophical, it fails to be entertaining. In short, it simply fails.
~The Positives~
- The art is nicely rendered, if plasticine at times. - The sound design adds a lot to the overall experience. - The wordsight concept could have been very interesting if it were well developed/more creatively utilized. - The VN is visually polished. Unfortunately, the sea of overwhelming negatives serves to wash away the positives. I wish to start by stating that I am a fan of the Utsuge genre. I have no issue with dark subject matter being depicted in fiction and am a fan of other disturbing works. I take issue with the specific way certain subjects were handled in this VN.To put it bluntly, the main character is an unrepentant, self-pitying

Do you want to play a visual novel where you're a blackpilled incel who hates society and wants to burn it all down? Then this is the game for you, but it's not for me. Don't get it twisted, I have no hate for a game with darker and edgier content, but this game is dark and edgy for the sake of it, there's not a lot of substance here. This is, in essence, a visual novel hentai with choices where you're the ugly MC getting revenge on women who have wronged him by forcing himself on them.
Does the substance come after my initial 2 hour window? Maybe, but I stopped here so I could think on whether or not I'm going to keep playing or refund it. I'm not going to lie, I did not do enough research about this game. I should have realized what it was but it never clicked this was basically a hentai VN until I got the patch, which I didn't even know existed until I googled the game after wondering if the game was intentionally skipping what seemed like pretty important context and content. Spoiler alert: yes, the game is heavily censored on Steam. That's on me, but the patch doesn't make it better in my opinion.
The Steam version cuts a lot of content that really redefines the whole story, it cuts around the fact that the MC ends up sexually assaulting these women, leaving only the implications, which could actually make the whole game better depending on your view. For example, the very first interaction with fellow bullied character Miyu in the base Steam version is presented as a simple (though still forced) kiss, however in the 18+ version she is forced to give him a handjob, and it only gets worse from there.
I'm no saint, I'm a fan of 177013 for the story (seriously, don't raise your eyebrow at me), but this VN is just a step too far for no real good reason, and it's not intriguing enough for what it offers. The first sexual assault scene is the first interaction you have with another person beyond a simple text exchange in which the girl, Miyu, asks if he's okay after, what is implied, a bullying. Miyu confesses her love for the MC and he forces her to give him a handjob. It sort of explodes itself right away, without giving time for a better buildup. It feels like it needs slightly more padding to get you to really sympathize with the MC, though it all goes to the wayside when he sexual assaults Miyu anyway but at least the attempt would be there.
I don't like the characters either, they're all pretty flat. The MC in particular is no better than your standard hentai male protagonist. It takes very little for him to finally be pushed over the edge and force Miyu to give her a handjob in the first interaction between them, which is wild because she's the only person who has ever genuinely been nice to him. You're really going to be an asshole to who may be the only person who might have genuinely been sympathetic to you?
Minor spoilers ahead for the first 10-15 minutes of the story.
To expand on the first interaction, Miyu confesses her love for him, which is quickly revealed as something she is forced to do by the queen bee of the school, prior to that there's no indication Miyu's acts of kindness are because she's being told to, it seems like she's genuinely being nice to him, and she says she understands what he's going through during their second interaction in the game after she saves him when he's beaten up. Of course, he gets angry that she didn't save him of her own volition, finding out she was told to by queen bee (I forgot her name I genuinely do not care about her), and then he rapes her mouth and coerces her to be his slave. Yeah...
Now, I suppose you could surmise she's only been nice to him so he doesn't off himself and she's forced to be at the bottom of the totem pole, giving credence to the thought she's faking her niceness, explaining why MC doesn't really blink twice to force her to give him the handjob in the first interaction, but again, there's no indication that this is the case until after the handjob in which then she says exactly that: she won't survive the bottom of the totem pole. But because her thoughts are laid bare after the first assault there's no indication she was being anything but nice to him prior to that, in which case her thoughts have probably shifted drastically to give fewer fucks about the MC.
To summarize, none of Miyu's moments of kindness are treated as anything but genuine until after he sexually assaults her, aside from her confession of love which is directly stated are because she's being forced to by someone bullying her. She's in the same boat as MC, so for the MC to go from stating he really cares about her to forcing himself on her it's a little jarring. Then again, this is no better than your standard trash hentai so I'm not sure what I expected.
I love a good Visual Novel, but this isn't one of them. It's 4/10 at best, and for full price there's better offerings.
Overall, it's just not very good. For a game that is, at the time of review, rated "Very Positive" I expected a better story. Does it come after the initial 2 hours? Maybe. Will I continue? Also maybe. I'm almost curious just how much worse it is, and if there's a "happy" ending of sorts I almost want to see how it fixes how much more messed up I can only imagine it gets. The only real positives is the art is decent, and the soundtrack is really good. Otherwise, unless you genuinely really enjoy trash hentai with a thin plot for the sake of it, find something else. I already bought it, and I'm morbidly curious, so I may stick with it but unless something drastic occurs in the game's story I don't see myself changing my recommendation.

This is like when your dad finds out you like smoking and forces you to smoke multiple cartons until you die of lung damage.
This is exceptionally brutal beyond description. The VN constantly bombards you with sex scenes, most of which are either rape, torture, humiliation or something degrading. However, it is not without purpose. It serves as the VN's main vehicle to show the never ending downward spiral.

Initially, I was going to give this a negative review, However, after completing the game in its entirety and going over some of the teams notes, I have to say, not bad for a gut wrenching DISASTER-PEACE of an eroge.
Yes, that's right! IT'S PORN !
With that being said......
Despite what the tags may lead you to believe, this game is an eroge. I bought the game thinking it's some spooky VN akin to the corpse party, but I was sorely mistaken.
First off, the Steam version of Mojika lacks ALL the adult content in the game. And I mean ALL. MASSIVE chunks of the game that feature or hint at any horrible action caused by the players choices are either cut or removed from the game, losing A LOT of context and some of the nuances in the results of your actions. So to correct this, you'll need to go to the main JAST website, make an account, and download the director's cut DLC from their website. BUT, BE WARNED! Not only will you subject yourself to a game that will try it's best to make you cringe and squirm while making your jaw drop from some of the twists and turns you'll be encountering, BUT, you'll also lose the ability to get achievements in the game, plus, any progress you had built up in the vanilla game will be lost once the DLC is installed. With that being said, drag and drop the files in to the main Mojika file found in your commons folder in your steam file dictionary.
After that's done. You're Ready to Play!
Now, despite the horror tag it has, the game is not scary. In fact, it'll probably be the least scary thing you'll ever see, but, it's a very shocking VN. And after reading the director's notes, I can see why.
As the game description states, the game is about a VERY ugly boy named Tanezaki Suteru, who, despite being SUPER ugly, has been cursed to see peoples thoughts. An ability Suteru calls "word-sight'. With this ability, he's able to look at peoples truths, hence the the subtitle "Truth Rears Its Ugly Head". As you progress the story, you'll be prompted to stare at one of the 5 heroins at different points in the story to uncover the truth; Muyi, Kirara, Gumi, Tsubaki, and Naruko. Without getting into spoilers, you'll be choosing whether or not you are being told the truth or a bold faced lie. If you feed into your curiosity or paranoia, you may find yourself walking down a very dark path.
While I'm giving this game a recommendation for it's bold presentation of it's ideas and narrative, I can't Recommend this game to new comers to the VN genre. While veterans may find more enjoyment with Mojika and it's themes and mechanics, new comers like myself will find it very hard to stomach and confusing to progress at first, which may put you off from playing Mojika or even refund it (Something I almost did).
So buy it at your own discretion and enjoy...... if you can stomach it.

This game ain't Totono, don't go in thinking you're gonna get a similar experience. The art is great but that's about all I can say about it. Definitely not for everyone.
