I basically finished the entire thing in 2 days. All but 1 job complete, all characters and pets unlocked, just a few unlocks to go but otherwise everything built. Not much of an idle game if it doesnt even have enough content to run for more than 2 days.

If you sweat the game out like I did, it'll take you approx 6/7 hours to grind it out lol Hope more is added to the game like the ability to have little families/love interests and shared bedrooms but this is still a very solid little game and definitely worth the money!

It's an interesting game in that it's less of a sim and more of a puzzle. Here is your randomly generated character that you cannot customize. You can change its name but not its skin color, clothes, or voice pitch. Get a second character! But that specific character has a specific storyline where they don't want a career. In horizontal mode, you can have a two-story house... and everyone can share the bathroom but not the kitchen stove. But they can share the microwave. Multiple characters make sounds and emote at each other, but that's the extent of it. With the space-sharing limitations, vertical mode makes more sense, making a multi-story building and assigning specific floors to each character. However, the scaling options are limited, so vertical mode is tiny on my screen and virtually unplayable. I strongly dislike leaving this to idle on my screen because the sound of little people defecating interrupts my focus. If you wanted to customize a little avatar and build them a nice house and pack that house with familiar faces, this is not the game for you. Still, I can see the appeal of some of these things. I'd recommend this to someone who likes to 100% complete idle games then never touch them again.

Game brings a little comfort to your life by having the characters just chill idle on your PC. While I'm browsing my little dude is streaming and making more money than I ever will, GG i cry 10/10

It's ok? I was able to get everything in under 40 hours, which is *wild* for an idle game. I've finished two towns, maxed out all careers, completed all fulfillments, 100%ed achievements, and even figured out how to turn on Creepypasta mode. But now that all these things are done there's really not much else to do. Hoping that with a few updates there'll be more content to make it interesting again. But until then, I don't really think it's worth it.

Do not buy if you have a high resolution monitor. At 4k the interface is so small that it is effectively unplayable without moving my face right up to the monitor to see what I'm doing, and this is with a 32" monitor. I can't imagine how bad it must be with smaller monitors at the same resolution. The fact that there is no option to make the interface larger or to increase the overall zoom of the game makes this feel rushed and I'm assuming there are a bunch of other oversights and issues as well, as a result. The game also takes an oddly long time to launch and the control over where it appears on screen is also very limited. Why not just allow us to drag it wherever we want it? I'm sure this is probably decent on a 1080p monitor and will one day be pretty good but as mentioned, it feels very rushed and poorly tested, given that the developers clearly never tested it on high resolution screens or did, but don't care that it's not playable. I'll wait a week or so for fixes and refund if none come. Edit: I've checked the forums and this issue seems to have been reported during a beta, and people with resolutions lower than 1080p have reported that the game takes up half the screen. Since the dev has not acknowledged any of these issues, I'm assuming there's not going to be a fix. Refunding now. It should be mentioned on the store page that the game is only designed to be played at a narrow range of resolutions. This also means that the game is basically going to be unplayable at a time in the future when everyone is using higher resolution monitors, so beware of that.

I only have a little over an hour playing this game, but I don't think I can recommend it 100%. I think the game itself is a little unforgiving and can be incredibly frustrating. Here are some examples: say you buy props and stack it on a table, you are unable to move said table unless you can find a place to move the props or resort to selling them. The other example is not being able to move walls. I have accidentally built a shed.. I cannot move it to the main house. Don't get me wrong the game is fun, but as I said, so far I only played the game for a little over an hour and I can't recommend it fully right now. Want to add, this game has the same concept as Rusty's Retirement and has some easter eggs in the game as well, which is a nice touch!

please help. i've lost my job, my boyfriend, and my social life. i can't stop playing. how are their little lives so addicting?? is this what they mean by a god complex?? i started it as a little minigame for when i'm stuck in meetings i don't need to be in, but i play this well after work too... it's too good to put down

the idea is nice but ..... UI is too small and i barely understand it! not clear at all...What's the point of having a sim run on your desktop if you can barely see it? sorry i hope it was better i was excited to try it :( ... maybe if there is future updates i may think about it again :\

I really wanted to give this game a chance, but it is not compatible on Steam Deck. I wish I knew that before buying.

Left it running for 7 hours straight. Got 2 people's homes and career paths done 100%. Accrued 12k for the next person. Didn't save. I'm crushed.

This gets the Rusty's Retirement seal of approval 👍 I absolutely love that I can build a massive apartment tower complex on the side of my monitor. It's a great addition to the 'Bottom-Of-Your-Screen' genre!

I love... love.. LOVE this game. I love the interactions NPC's have. The music and characters are charming, the pixel graphics are also charming Fantastic! Only minor complaints: You can "beat" the objectives in ~20 hours. More quests that take us forever, but not long to program, would be helpful. Games like this need an end-game.

It's very cute and minimalist, but even then, horribly unpolished. Animations break, information/stats provided are just wrong sometimes, items in menus aren't named correctly (or even just named "error"), it's possible to click on stuff through a menu while you're using it, and even the occasional crash. Look, I don't expect any game to be perfect, but these are the types of errors I expect from games which are *a bit* more robust than this. A smaller issue is just the game flow in general. Early game you need a ton of money and earn it super slow so you just build ugly stuff which are efficient - so you basically need to "grind" in order to get to the part of the game you actually give a fuck about: decorating the homes. And, you can't demolish walls, so if you build somewhere you didn't mean to - too bad. It's dirt cheap so if you can get it on 50% and are interested, then maybe. Otherwise, not really worth it, which is a shame; the idea has merit.

This game took me 24 hours to beat haha! Holy smokes this game immediately throws you into an eight-hour tutorial, and it definitely does not feel like a grind, more like a cozy slow burn. At my pacing, it was remarkably mellow onboarding that gradually opens, but makes you feel like you're emerging into a weird, rich world. And it's only when you finish that tutorial section? There is still plenty of more. There are new characters that become unlocks when you play, so there is a nice sense of still getting progression without overwhelming the player with too many options. It's got big Sims energy, but with one twist: the background NPCs work on a real-time loop and show up once an hour for you to track, which adds a subtle layer of ambient storytelling that I didn't know I needed. The pacing of the game may not be for everyone - but if you enjoy slice-of-life games that slowly increase in complexity, it's likely worth your time. I'm hooked. I really am enjoying the juxtaposition of chill in-game progression with just enough depth to feel rewarding in every hour of game play in "My Little Life."

Meh. Icons and UI a bit small on my large screen.

This is a REALLY great little game to have going while I work on writing. I'm stoked this is exactly what I wanted, I got like 5 hours of writing done because of this cute little sim. Gonna be playing this when I need to force myself to take a break from Sims to do productive things

Ehhhhhh, not a very good tutorial, also, far too tiny and hard to see unfortunately. Maybe when they introduce more scale sizes so I can see what I'm doing haha

Game has a lot to like about it! There are some deal breakers that make this not a recommend. The people will get stuck in repeat animation cycles when interacting with things. I also had a crash on exit. The zone system prevents people from interacting with items that meet their needs. The zone system in general probably needs a rework, either to allow overlapping zones, or shared zones. With the zone system, it feels like the game is pushing you to build duplicates of every need-satisfying item for every person, but the money rolls in slow and the cost for everything (specifically new walls) is so high that it feels like you should build an apartment with shared amenities first - which they then don't share. If there's a rework of the zone system and some bugfixes, this would be a recommend.
