Great space heater. My room gets cold sometimes, and i dont have a heater, so i turn my PC on NBA 2k25 and gets my room to a nice 74 degrees F. Thank you for making a computer intensive, unoptimized, laggy game to keep me warm at night.

I have no idea what these game developers have been smoking this past year, but they've definitely assembled a crew of shockingly incompetent employees at 2K. Surely they must be some of the worst in the whole gaming industry. With less than 1 hour played, almost half my total "play time" was spent waiting for my computer to launch the game and finish "building shaders" which somehow almost took as long as downloading and installing the whole 150gb game even though my system surpasses the recommended specifications in every regard. Upon launching the game, instead of loading a main menu screen, I was immediately prompted me to pick a position and team which was really jarring and annoying because I wanted to make sure the settings were all adjusted properly first, but I had no choice but to oblige and make a selection so I went ahead and did that. All of a sudden the game was essentially frozen because it was zoomed in on two NPCs in super slow motion and it was taking several minutes just for them to turn their head with no sound, so I got tired of waiting and alt f4 out of that garbage. Once that toilet was flushed, I relaunched the game and somehow it managed to build the shaders in a matter of seconds instead of 15 minutes like the first time. More importantly, it actually went to the main menu, so I adjusted the settings and tried going to Myteam. Well, I went through a few menu screens until the sound turned itself off again, so I alt f4 out of that garbage. So I reload the game again. This time I pick my career, it asks my position and team again, I play the OT quarter, and then... the game asks what my position is? I mean, I've already made the selection - TWICE - but ok... I tried allocating my stats until the sound stopped working so I alt f4 again. So I go try myteam again, I navigate through a couple menu screens and get onto the court. After a couple of times up and down the court guess what? NO SOUND AGAIN. How do you screw it up this bad? I mean seriously... Since last year was probably the least effort I've ever seen someone put into a game before, I was expecting something better this time around, but this year's definition of fun was to not allow the #69 on a jersey anymore. I've had my gripes with previous versions of this game as well, but at least they were more comical problems such as player ratings being completely biased and out to lunch, people hacking the game with 50 foot long arms, stupid looking animations, or just absolutely clueless artificial intelligence that refuses to pass the ball to the open man at all costs, but this year the game doesn't even let you play for more than 2 minutes before it just makes you shut it off. This was easily one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had trying to play a video game. I'd consider trying it again if the sound ever worked and the asking price is around 10 dollars, but that's only because I really like basketball.

You know, I spent a lot of time thinking about terrible games when I was writing this. I was trying to think of the worst game that was ever created. Now - in my lifetime - I've always said the worst games were either Alone in the Dark 2008, or Tomb Raider 3... But no, no way, not a chance in hell is it either of those... It's fucking NBA 2k25.... THIS is the worst game that was ever created. EVER. And you can't even explain it, you have to experience it. Play just ONE GAME and you will be awestruck with no possibility of putting words together anymore. Fuck this game. Buy some weed instead.

Is this game a joke?

There hasn't been a truly fun NBA2k game that had a MyCareer since 2K11. Speaking of MyCareer, unless you're willing to spend at least $150 for in-game currency, prepare to play as this guy who is trying to be all "hype" about building a "dynasty", but instead flails around the court like a bumbling idiot, tripping over his shoelaces, being unable to move on offence, the AI acting like you're not even there while you're on defense, moving like you're the most out-of-shape person in the world, and being an all-around embarrassment who shouldn't even be in the NBA in the first place. Oh, your guys has a 99 potential, but let's give him enough skill points to be a bottom-f**king-rung with a 60 overall rating. Very fun, guys. You already got my money (even if I got it during this last Spring sale), I'm not giving you any more. Also, why the hell did they implement all this stupid online garbage in a game-mode called "MyCareer"? Why do I need to drive around in a stupid gokart or do all these inane "side quests" so the game stops f**king bugging me about it and making it my active quest? It's like when a brand new player joins GTA Online. I don't want to do all this stupid crap that has nothing to do with an NBA career. I just want to play f**king Basketball! I don't think LeBumble James has to drive in a stupid gokart going to clothing stalls, buying 7,000VC shirts so he doesn't have to look like Generic McSweatpants or play a 3v3 game against the Hamburglar in an obvious mismatch where you have zero fun. Have the online features be its own separate game-mode! Get your heads out of your a**es, 2K. The AI is stupid too; all they do is set screens and shoot 3's, miss on purpose so you don't get assists, and just stand there looking foolish. My god, the AI in 2k11 had MUCH better AI than this. If you want any kind of semblance of fun, play the MyNBA mode with player-lock so you can create a custom player without being limited by stupid in-game currency paywalls and be able to control your character with at least some fluidity. Also, the new shot meter is absolute garbage.

Refunded it after it crashing 10 times withint 17 minutes, I did not even get to play the damn game. 3090 with a 7800X3d Just to make sure people won't assume I run a potato. Stay away from this!

Game is pretty good for the price if you get it on sale. Just never buy VC. You can't let them win.

10/10 we finally have next gen man. this is incredible. game runs and looks amazing. for context my 2K gameplay since 2K15 has been MyCareer and offline game modes, I don't know how online or park gameplay is because I don't care for it (always has had terrible network latency and modded to hell on PC after release) My PC specs: Playing at 3840x1600 resolution, 144hz refresh rate, ultrawide I have a 3080, Ryzen 7 5800x3d, and 64GB of DDR4 RAM Averaging 110-144fps in a MyCareer game, fps dips in the city when lots of people online

Dont bother with this game it feels like theyre force feeding you dog shit on top of all the countless pop up micro transaction ads they have. NOT TO MENTION IT RUNS LIKE FUCKING ASSS, for reference i have an i7-13700k and 4070, for shits and giggles ima add on that my case has some great airflow on top of the aio........yet this game still runs like im trying to load it up on an xbox 360. It literally eats my cpus ass without remorse.... it shoots up to high FUCKING 80s when literally any other crazy title game my cpu has hit mid 60s MAX. like bro i played this shit for less than an hour an wanted my refund within the 1st 10 min!?!?!?!?!?!? GENUINELY save ur $$$$ bc i got this on sale and i JUST CANNOT imagine paying 70 FUCKING usd for playing a game that plays like u just downloaded a bitcoin mining virus. Oh dont forget your going to waste 150gb for virtually a nothing burger bc nobody gives a shit about the city, i barely saw any active park runs, and all that other metric ass ton of space seems to disappear into thin air because your getting nothing but a wet farts worth of satisfaction. Great to have NBA 2k on PC with the next gen engine finally. So far I have only played 9 hours of My Career singleplayer but I have had fun so far. Running at around 100 fps during gameplay, graphics look nice and the controls are good. Made a SF to play with my Pacers. I will add to this review as I play more, but so far its been good, from performance, to gameplay, to the graphics and the audio its been good. Also my career so far seems better than the last 2k game I played. Also as far as bugs and issues go, I have played 9 hours and not had any crashes or anything yet. I have all the settings at highest they can go and have DLSS on Quality, averaging about 120 fps and no crashes so far. I have NOT tried the online portion of the game yet though, these games I mainly just play singleplayer my career and singleplayer Season/Fantasy. So far thumbs up from me, but I will play alot more this week and on the weekend and I will keep adding to this review, both positive and negative things I come across. Will also try it on my Steam Deck to, so far I have only tried it on my desktop PC (5700x CPU and 4060ti GPU, with 32gb of ram and on Windows 10. Playing at 1440p resolution and 144hz. Playing with Vsync on and like I said above, I am averaing around 100 fps most the time, it was at 144 fps when i played one of the high school games with less people in the stands). Only negative is the Micro-transactions, yeah they suck and i wish they didn't have them. Thankfully you can still just play solo My Career and Season/fantasy and still have good fun which is what I like most in these games. I will probably try a few hours in the City at a later point, but for now I will just play singleplayer stuff. Just a heads up for those who want to play mainly only online in the City, be warned of the Microtransactions, they are still around. I was not a fan of the last 5 or 6 NBA 2k games, but this one here is great, best one in many years. Yes the Microtransactions suck, but I have played 30 hours now on the game and not spent a penny on microtrnasactions. You can play My Career and My Team without spending a penny, just play games vs the AI and you will earn stuff fairly quickly this year imo. the fact the Microtransactions are still in the game all these years later sucks balls but atleast I don't feel like I have to spend more money to enjoy the game. My guy is at 73 rating in My Career now and I am averaing 31 points a game and 6 assists a game as a SF in my rookie season. Again I don't play much multiplayer just singleplayer My Career and My Team 99% of the time. I have also played some of my hours played on the Steam Deck and I have it capped at 40fps and it runs fairly well. Runs better on the Steam Deck than i was expecting it would, the game looks gorgeous this year.

We are seriously in need of a competitor to this series. Despite the fact that it's a glorified casino, this game may actually blow up my computer with all of the crashes.

HELLOOOO SPORT ENTHUSIAST GAMERS!!!! IT's TIME FOR ANOTHER BALLER REVIEW!!! Let's bounce right into it, and discuss the overall feel of the game. From the very minute of opening the game we felt as though we were right there on the court. We personally haven't actually played basketball before, but this made us feel like we have. The graphics were surprisingly very realistic and we utilized the face scanner to create ourselves within the game, how cool is that?! Accuracy to the real thing, We gotta talk about the elephant on the court here, the disconnect are a serious foul. Every 1 minute the game would end despite me (Omega reviewer #2) having a MASSIVE lead on the opposing player (Omega reviewer #1). However I (Omega reviewer #1) would have demolished MY opponent (Omega reviewer #2) had the game NOT disconnected as soon as I touched the ball. We will agree to disagree but thats besides the point but let's get back on court. The gameplay once working is phenomenal. The sounds of the ball really resonate with us, you can hear every slap of the ball and every squeak of the shoe. Sound design is 10/10. this game sucks like all the other ones. i got it for 9 bucks and feel like playing a basketball game for a bit. like all sports games, if you dont play online, they arent worth it anymore. thanks to all the no life mommy credit card whales who ruined sports games!

I load into the game. Shaders finally finish compiling. It dumps me straight into game 7 of playoffs. OK, cool -- a unique way to throw people into the tutorial. lol, there is no tutorial. I've never played a game in this series so I don't know what buttons to press to jump or rebound or even shoot a basket. My guy meanders around the court passing the ball until there's a turnover -- maybe for travelling, maybe shot clock violation. They couldn't even manage to put icons on screen for what buttons do what. What are you thinking, 2K? I'm still in my REFUND WINDOW. Thank God Steam is so customer friendly -- and one of the various reasons I mainly buy stuff here.

tbh its an upgrade to the utter dogshit of old gen 2k24 but its still same old money grab, ronnie2k might be israeli as well and cpu utilization permanent 100%, first few months i thought this cncr game would melt a hole in my laptop when my cpu started tweaking and reached 97degrees, only buy when its like sub 30bucks lowkey

Tried NBA 2K25 after 5 years away, and it’s a disaster. The game is horribly optimized and relies on upscalers like FSR to run... even without FSR it still looks like a blurry mess thanks to all time terrible anti-aliasing. I don't know how they can get this game running on Phones and Nintendo switches, meanwhile the PC performance is awful. Just lazy work. MyCareer is even worse. Creating a player feels like filling out an Excel spreadsheet, and your character sucks at everything anyway. Then you’re stuck in endless 20-minute cutscenes and talking to random NPCs when all i want to do is just to play basketball. I don’t know what I was expecting, but this game is straight-up garbage. Edit: This game is 140GB and has no reason to be that big. A complete waste of space for a game that isn’t worth the download.

This has been going on for too long now. This bug has been here for a long time now. When you start the game, you can have the Controller Setting set to Shot Timing Profile - Low Risk - Reward/Layup Timing Profile - Low Risk - Reward/Shot Meter Shots -  Shots - Off/Layup - Off/Free Throws - Off The game will decide to change it to Shot Timing Profile - Difficulty - Based/Layup Timing Profile - Real Player %/Shot Meter Shots -  Shots - On/Layup - On/Free Throws - On This can happen at the start or half way in of a My Carrer game, a park game, a Rec game any game any time it feels like it. It can happen when have played two or three games in my park in a row with the setting the way you want then the game just changes them when it feels like it, and you lose the game because your timings are now all off, and you can not change it back until you can finish and exit the game. This is a bug that effects the game play, fairness of online, and has been around for a few NBA 2K's now. Another old bug you say the game is next gen but cannot remember setting and just changes them when it wants.  I am downvoting this as it is a bug they have know about for years now, claim that this game is ''Next Gen'' but can not fix or play over 60 frames.

First time to play MyTeam despite purchasing the game for decades and only playing offline just to get PERMANENTLY BANNED for NO REASON AT ALL.
