Amazing game. Based on Half Life Alyx render engine I think. Best game of this type since Alyx, but not as scary.

Great game.
I plays just like Half life, but with its own touch en puzzles.
Plays great on steam wireless connected to a quest 3.

Played on Quest 3 + SteamVR
Quick review + gameplay footage here: https://youtu.be/IELzL6Tg7Bw This is a very ambitious early access VR game with fantastic atmosphere. The first thing you'll probably notice is that it's similar to Half Life Alyx. (it even has a crowbar at the start!) The fact that it's very similar to Half Life is both a blessing and a curse, if you liked that game you'll like this one too for sure, but then you'll end up comparing it a lot. Pros: - Heavily inspired by Half-Life: Alyx. - Atmosphere with good lighting and a sense of being hunted. - Physics allows you to grab a ton of things. Touching things is the hallmark of VR! - A developing story, I have not completed yet, but so far seems interesting - A "Tron-like" hacking mode in a digital world, I like that part a lot. - Good performance on the PCVR version with DLSS enabled. Cons: - Bugs with controls and sometimes feels like floaty grabbing mechanics. - The world feels a bit empty, even in a post-appocolyptic world - Lowered textures, you can tell it was Questified. A texture improvement would be more than welcome. - Lack of guidance for puzzles, they don't tell you where to go Summary: It's a good step for VR, I have hopes for its future, especially if bugs are fixed and textures are improved for PCVR/PSVR. If you're into atmospheric semi-horror shooters like Half Life, you'll definitely want to try this one! The rain+thunder atmosphere alone is 🧑🍳1 votes funny

Disclaimer: I received the game for free for early playtesting. That said, I still bought a couple copies and gifted them to support the devs.
tl;dr An Alyx-inspired indie game with its own personality and world, primed for exploring and with great worldbuilding. I want this to succeed, because I want more games like this in VR!
First important question for me – is this a VR game or a game in VR?
This is absolutely a VR game. It’s built from the ground up for VR, with physics-based puzzles and mechanics that only make sense in VR. This isn’t something you could ever replicate on flatscreen.
Who is this game for?
I struggle with comparison for this. Honestly, it’s for gamers. The game mixes a lot of elements. Like platforming? You’ll find plenty to enjoy. Miss that Half-Life: Alyx feel? This will scratch the itch. Want some shooting? It’s there. Looking for a compelling narrative? Check. Enjoy puzzles? Definitely. Nostalgia callbacks? Absolutely they are there.
What to expect?
I don't want to say it, but reality is that you need to expect heavily Alyx inspired game. It has it's own personality, its own fun mechanics, but the inspiration is there clearly from first moment. However, this game is made by an indie studio consisting of 5 people so you can't truly compare it to Alyx and I am afraid that people will regardless. It is still a complete game with around 10 hours of gameplay for first playthrough if not trying to 100% it. The game presents you a world where you are rewarded with lore and hidden stories if you explore it.
The dealbreakers?
You need some VR experience. This isn’t “baby’s first VR game,” and it’s not ideal if you’re prone to motion sickness.
Very little hand-holding. If you want the game to guide you every step, this isn’t it.
It's an indie game and experienced players will see that in some store bought assets. Due to that also not everything is visually flush.
There are no human NPCs or enemies, only humans in the game is the MC and the voice in his ear you never get to see.
No difficulties to choose from. Everyone is playing same game. (loot spawns do adjust depending on how good you are doing)
Some platforming sections are mandatory. Most can be bypassed, but if you hate platforming, be warned. Many people who are really bad at this get stuck and frustrated on platforming.
Tips!
Pistol, shotgun and default data world gun is the only things you realistically need if you use them smartly, everything else is extra. First upgrades I would get - triple jump for data worlds first and then laser for pistol.
You will have the best experience if you explore and find the lore bits and let the environment tell you the stories of this world.
Update: Not much has changed since early access as far as my review goes. Game is a bit more polished. Unfortunately also easier because too many people got stuck and frustrated - bad for me, good for most others.
Now, about the price - I honestly think around 30 eurodollar price would be better, but, if you are up to reading the story bits, there is enough enjoyment here for 40 eurodollars. The devs do need all the support they can so I am advocating that you buy the game for full price if you can. If you are still unsure - play the demo !
