This game feels like a low-effort attempt at being Resident Evil — but without the polish, charm, or functionality that makes those games great. It tries so hard to be another survival horror clone, but it just doesn’t land. I have seen other people play it and well the gunplay alone is frustrating enough to turn anyone off. The performance is poor, and the resolution is unreasonably bad when I opened the game for the first time. I couldn't even get the game to stay on one screen.
One odd thing I noticed from this dev is that the same few streamer voices are used again and again, seemingly from the same circle or stream team. There are so so many talented voice actors and creators out there — it would’ve been nice to see some diversity and fresh voices for once.
What also left a bad impression was when looking in the reviews, seeing players who leave honest, constructive negative reviews get mocked or hit with “jester” emojis by the devs or community. Criticism isn’t an insult- it’s feedback. When that’s dismissed or ridiculed, it sends a clear message that the game’s creators aren’t open to improvement. Therefore can't be taken seriously. Take it from Gun Interactive and Papergames (also known as Infold Games).
This game really needs some real work- the mechanics to optimization and community interaction.
I’m refunding my purchase because of how badly the game runs and is poorly optimized and just overal the game is lacking.

I tend to be hard to impress. Unfortunately, I find this game to be just Resident Evil but voiced by streamers. That might seem like an odd thing to say but I literally mean it, it's Resident Evil, with all of the flaws included. It doesn't do anything to separate itself or make itself improved over the original. It's also probably less polished than the original as well, which ends up hurting the overall package. Almost all of the threats in the sections I played can be solved by just shooting and I never seemed to be too low on ammo.
I ended up stopping around when you get the shotgun as they script a 20 zombie ambush right after you pick it up. I killed half of the zombies and left the other half, as to not waste all of the shotgun ammo I had. When I entered one of the motel rooms, I had not realized that the original spawn point for the other half was directly in front of the motel room, which had me quite literally exit the room into a crowd of 10 zombies at point blank because that's where the ambush had originally placed them.
If you really like Resident Evil 1, with every flaw (and more) included and voiced by streamers, go for it. If not, I'd say you're better off without it.

I wish it wasn't the case but I can't recommend this game. With all the indie horror games I play, this one just let me down the most by being so aggressive out of the gate even on normal difficulty. I played just like I do a standard RE game trying to kite and skirt by with just the bare minimum - then they give you the shotgun and surround you with 15+ zombies - they are easy to skirt but this game seems to work on RE3 style mob placements where you need to go 2-3 screens to reset aggro. So you can't just rush objectives without wasting time to save ammo - you're stuck wasting time running through random fucking pathways trying to reset aggro so you can dodge spam to the next area so you can proceed to ammo dump into an extremely beefcake boss that gets old in the first 2 minutes of bland attack patterns.
It's a great game on paper that would have been fantastic if bosses weren't just bullet sponges, and/or aggro reset on a single door.
So yeah, I took the chance hoping that this would be another Tainted Pact special - a weird buggy mess that barely worked but had so much charm that it was fun to experience like Suffer the Night, Terror at Oakheart, or Massacre at the Mirage - but instead I just got a weird aftertaste in my mouth of playing some janky "trying to be serious" RE clone without any of the charm of either - early RE or pre-TP releases.

Flesh Made Fear is a retro styled survival horror game complete with fixed cameras and tank controls. The game has you explore the outskirts of a town, sewers, and inside various buildings throughout. There are 2 characters you can play as, each with a different game route. I would say each character explores about 85% of the same area, with 15% being original with different bosses to fight. The game took me approximately 5 hours to complete my first playthrough with one character. It took me exactly 15 hours to 100% the whole game and all of its achievements.
*HIGHLY recommend using a controller for this game. There are a few quick time events that are a breeze when using a controller. Also due to the tank controls, a controller really helps dodging zombies with ease.
The controls are second nature if you grew up playing RE(1-3) on Playstation.
+ From the opening menu screen, the synthwave music just smashes throughout and sounds amazing.
+ The atmosphere is gorgeous, creepy, with many interesting buildings and places to explore. The neon aesthetic is beautiful.
+ The voice acting is well done in a cheesy way. Also most of the collectible notes are read through by voice actors, a nice touch of immersion.
+ There is a secret infinite weapon to unlock if you find all the plushies hidden in the game and beat the game on hardcore mode. This weapon is hilarious and lots of fun to use while mopping up post game achievements.
+ The story at first sounds simple and cliche, but there are many notes to discover for those who want to deep dive into it if they so choose. This leaves it up to the player to choose how much they want to learn the backstory, which is perfect.
+ The puzzles are well balanced, not too difficult or obscure, no guide needed.
+ Several bosses are disgustingly hilarious, and well designed.
+ Excellent replay value. Perfect game for speed runs.
+ The levels / layout of the game is large and well made.
- There are a few instances where you are ambushed by hoards of 10+ zombies that you need to dodge / run around. Fortunately there are save stations everywhere to help you. Also use your knives and dodge button, they are immensely useful.
- A few areas are a bit too dark. I would have lightened up a few areas about 10% brightness.
- There are a bit too many achievements for all the endings, there are about 6. I would have switched this around to add more achievements for collecting notes, and adding a New Game+ mode.
This game is one of the best, if not THE best, homages out there to the original Resident Evil games.
Lets get a sequel!

This game... Could use some work. It's fairly new, so I'm hoping the devs might fix some of these issues in a later update, but I'll say, I'm struggling to not just give up on it.
First, I couldn't for the life of me get this game to play in a 16:10 aspect ratio (the OLED Steam Deck's native resolution) without it cutting out a bit of the far right and left of the screen.
Second, this game's controller support as it is makes the analog stick deadzone way too small which made both my Steam Deck and DualSense appear if they had stick drift while aiming, which really wasn't difficult to fix on Steam Deck, but I fear it could lead to some negative reviews in the future to customers who'd be nonethewiser.
Third, enemies have the ability to pin you against the wall and make running to the left or right of them impossible leaving you to either waste ammo or die, which isn't ideal for a game in a genre that prioritizes fight or flight.
The story itself, though? I'm only at the police station so far, but I'm genuinely enthralled with the narrative, so I imagine it'd be worth it for anyone willing to play right now.
I'll change this review if any of this changes.
Give me jester rewards if you work as a cleanup crew floor licker for messy bukkake sessions.

Really decent survival horror game. Two routes with some differences (locations, bosses etc.) not a lot but enough for a second playthrough. Difficulty is fine too, once you get the hang of the game it's very easy.
Only gripe is the achievements require multiple endings, there's quite a few too. You can make saves as the ending 'choices' are near to the end but it's still a pain and could have been done better honestly.
Would recommend this game 100% though, for the price what you're getting is a great SH game.

Bias: I have a voice acting role in the game, but I had no input during the game making process, etc. So let that decide how much you care about my review, BUT:
I've played a metric buttload of horror games. From DOS games to AAA titles to indie student projects. I've seen it all.
And this game rocks. It's just fun from start to finish. The level of detail in every room is amazing. Each room feels hand crafted to be as grindy and atmospheric as possible with tons of unique props placed to add to it. And it never takes itself too seriously or falls into overused tropes (outside of the ones it's parodying.)
The directing and music is so impressive. Everything feels so cinematic. The fixed camera angles are perfect. Enemy design is great.
It doesn't fall into so many of the traps I see in other RE clones. The combat feels meaty. The puzzles tickle your brain but aren't super hard and obscure. But most of all, the map design is good. So many times devs leave you in this open empty world, but the game does a good spoke and hub system so you aren't wandering off for hours and hours. The level design feels absolutely on point and is intuitive for fans of the genre.
So impressed with how far the dev has come in a whole new genre from his past work.

I played the demo for this game several months ago and was BEYOND impressed. I'm really not into games where I have fixed camera's and tank controls, but MAN did this game change my mind. I had eagerly awaited its release and sure enough, I haven't been disappointed. I was also surprised by the fact there's two characters to play as with separate expereinces between them!
I loved Massacre at the Mirage, and I love this game from this Dev. I can't wait to finish it and see what else Tainted Pact has in store!

This game was great! I played as Nat first time around and this is a love letter to og RE and Silent Hill without a doubt, down to the jankness of it. Those that love tank controls will be in heaven playing this. Bosses were great, puzzles were pretty easy to get down and just the right length in gameplay like the old days. My tiny gripe is I wish you could remap the controls as I didn't like where the quickturn and dodge buttons were located but other than that, 9 out of 10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Excellent throwback to the tank control horror greatness. there's metal (I'm looking at you, Puritania by Dimmu Borgir), humor, great 80s horror atmosphere and fun gameplay here, with not too challenging puzzles. Comfy horror game, very enjoyable and doesn't overstay its welcome.
Hope to see a sequel one day.

ENG:
Flesh Made Fear is a true return to the roots of survival horror – dark, slow, and relentlessly tense. It combines tank controls, limited saves, and fixed cameras with modern presentation and a thick, oppressive atmosphere. Every step feels heavy, every encounter painfully real. Tainted Pact proves that fear doesn’t need explosions to work — it thrives in silence, uncertainty, and vulnerability. For fans of the old Resident Evil games, this is a must-play: chilling, raw, and brilliantly unsettling.

SK:
Flesh Made Fear je skutočný návrat ku koreňom survival (PS) hororu – temný, pomalý a nekompromisne napínavý. Kombinuje tankové ovládanie, obmedzené uloženia a pevné kamery s modernou prezentáciou a hutnou atmosférou.

Awesome throw back to Resident Evil. Great and cheesy voice acting from youtubers (backed it because of the Vtuber Layna Lazar)
Have only made it to the sewers but already loving the design of everything overall. Challenging combat with classic tank controls and an added dodge forward button. All of the easter eggs are great from streamer plushies to an Evil Dead nod when flushing the toilet.
Only gripe I have with it is the no manual reload. Unless I'm not understanding how you do it you have to empty your whole clip before you can reload which is annoying when in combat with a boss enemy.

I absolutely loved Flesh Made Fear. From the sound design, to the visuals and gameplay, everything oozes atmosphere and nostalgia. The boss battles are fun and intense, and the game perfectly captures that classic Resident Evil vibe while adding its own dark, twisted personality. The subtle humour sprinkled throughout gives it a unique charm that sets it apart — it’s easily one of my top horror games of the year.
(Possible spoilers below!)
After finishing Jack’s campaign, you unlock the chance to play as Natalie — something I was really excited about, as I wanted to see her side of the story. While her campaign reuses much of Jack’s content (aside from a few new areas and an alternate boss battle), it still made for a quicker, enjoyable second run, especially for collecting the remaining plushies and exploring alternate endings.
I loved The Ripper’s Room, where all your collected plushies are displayed, complete with silhouettes of the ones you’ve missed — such a great touch for completionists. Taking control of the Ripper later was a total surprise, and it left me really hoping for a sequel (and yes, the basement during that section is worth checking out 👀).
I also tried Hardcore Mode — tough but fair, as long as you conserve ammo wisely for unavoidable hordes and the boss battles.
Overall, Flesh Made Fear is an incredible throwback to classic survival horror with just enough modern polish to make it feel fresh. A must-play for fans of the genre!

I really enjoy this game, it's what I expect a good survival horror to be, small complaint is some bugs and crashes I don't know if it's my computer or some bugs left unchecked. I strongly recommend this game if you're big into survival horror!

Nostalgia is on point with this one! Definitely some RE 1 feels but with better graphics. The controller on Steam Deck works really well, and I'm enjoying the game so far. The music matches the vibe, and the voice work is clear! Definitely recommend this game!

Incredible game, really feels like one of the OG Resident Evil / Silent Hill games.
I have just completed the Rotwood Forest part with Jack, looking forward to the rest of the game!
