Got it for a random little fun stream game, next thing I knew I was 3 hours in LOL
This game is so fun and I cannot wait to see what things are added to it.
My only issue I've had was I feel like the grass when you try to clear it out has very specific hit boxes that I can't figure out, also crashed once but I didn't lose much progress anyway.

Zombie Graveyard Simulator, developed by threeW and published by PlayWay S.A., is an unusual blend of management simulation and survival action that manages to stand out through its sheer originality. At its core, the game is about running a graveyard, tending to the daily needs of the dead, the mourners, and the grounds themselves. But as night falls, the peaceful cemetery transforms into a battleground, and you’re no longer a caretaker—you’re a survivor. This dichotomy forms the backbone of the gameplay loop, shifting the player between calm, methodical daytime tasks and high-stakes nighttime defense, all within the same cursed patch of earth.
By day, players are responsible for maintaining and expanding their graveyard. This isn’t just limited to digging graves and placing headstones. The management elements run surprisingly deep. You tend to the grounds, accept and carry out funeral services, interact with visiting mourners, and handle cremations and burials. Revenue generated can be reinvested into building upgrades, decorations, equipment, and even staff hiring. There’s a surprisingly detailed economy at play, and as your graveyard’s reputation increases, so does the complexity of your responsibilities. You can cultivate flowers, vegetables, and decorative plants to please visitors or boost your resources. Eventually, you gain access to specialized staff like gardeners, florists, technicians, and gravekeepers, each automating or assisting with different parts of your operation. This helps scale the business and frees you up to focus on expansion or preparing for more intense nighttime encounters.
But when the sun goes down, the entire atmosphere shifts. The cemetery, once peaceful and businesslike, becomes a target for the undead. At night, the game pivots into a survival-defense mode, where you must fend off waves of zombies trying to escape from the very graves you manage. You’ll construct barricades, repair fences, place traps, and activate turrets. Weapons range from blunt tools like shovels and hammers to firearms and explosives. Combat is tense and fast-paced, requiring you to strategize on the fly—where to station your defenses, how to conserve ammunition, and which threats to prioritize. Zombies escalate in strength and numbers as time progresses, and special variants begin to appear, challenging even the best-prepared gravekeepers. If they breach your defenses, it’s not just your life that’s at risk—the integrity of your graveyard is on the line, and damage done during the night can impact your operations the next day.
What makes the game particularly engaging is the way these two modes intertwine. During the day, the money you earn and the improvements you make directly influence your chances of surviving the night. Investing in better security systems, upgrading weapons, or planting light sources to keep zombies at bay becomes crucial. Likewise, the aftermath of each night affects how you plan your day—cleaning up wreckage, repairing structures, and sometimes dealing with the consequences of failed defense. It creates a satisfying loop of preparation, execution, and recovery, with a strong incentive to constantly improve both your facility and your tactics.
Visually, the game opts for a slightly stylized aesthetic rather than gritty realism, which works in its favor. The graveyard is detailed and atmospheric, with a soft gothic charm during the day and a creepy, eerie tension at night. The zombies themselves are grotesque enough to be threatening without becoming grotesquely gory, keeping the game accessible while maintaining a horror edge. The UI is functional and fairly easy to navigate, though some menus and systems could benefit from clearer tutorials or tooltips. Environmental details, such as weather effects and lighting, are handled well and help to establish the mood—especially the contrast between the calm sunlit days and the chilling fog of the undead nights.
Despite its strengths, Zombie Graveyard Simulator isn’t without its rough spots. The game can feel repetitive in long sessions, especially if you settle into an optimal routine. Visitor requests during the day start to blend together, and while nighttime defense ramps up in difficulty, the patterns eventually become predictable. Some quality-of-life features are underdeveloped; inventory management can feel clunky, staff AI occasionally struggles with prioritization, and there are occasional bugs with zombie pathfinding or trap triggering. Balancing can also feel punishing if you overextend too quickly without the right defenses, leading to frustrating setbacks. However, the developers have been active in updating the game, addressing many of these issues and implementing community feedback, which bodes well for its longevity.
Zombie Graveyard Simulator succeeds because it’s more than just a gimmick. What could’ve been a shallow mashup of genres turns into a genuinely compelling hybrid experience, driven by its dual-core gameplay and unusual premise. The contrast between tranquil cemetery operations and desperate zombie defense is not just novel—it’s consistently engaging. It gives players two completely different kinds of challenges that feed into each other in meaningful ways. Whether you’re drawn to the slow satisfaction of building and managing a morbid little empire, or the thrill of holding the line against the dead clawing their way out of the soil, the game offers something distinct. With a few more layers of polish and variety, it could become a standout in both the simulation and survival genres. As it stands, it’s a strange, ambitious, and surprisingly addictive game well worth exploring.

Review: Zombie Graveyard Simulator
Developer/Publisher: ThreeW Publisher / Playway S.A.
Genre: Simulator / Automation / Survival
My Rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ (6/10)
**First Impressions**
A friend recommended Zombie Graveyard Simulator with heaps of praise. He’s heavy into automation games and that’s exactly the angle he came from. I’m more of a first-person shooter, survival horror, or practical survival type of player, so I went in with a different mindset. For me, it’s okay for a while but not something I’d play all day. About three hours at a time is my limit.
**Gameplay**
The loop is simple. You dig graves by hand, acquire bodies from jobs via the in-game computer, keep them in cold storage, and bury them. You try to keep the cemetery tidy with flowers and earn money from visitors. Over time, you can hire workers, automate tasks, dabble in farming, and even build up the church.
The twist is zombies. Survival mode is on by default but you can toggle it off. With it off, the game quickly becomes repetitive. With it on, you have the nightly challenge of defending your cemetery, building defenses, and putting your money to work. The issue is that survival doesn’t feel mandatory. You can switch it off, stack up money, then turn it back on once you’re ready with turrets and defenses. It would have made more sense if achievements only unlocked with survival left on, but that’s not the case.
**Pros**
- Chill gameplay, good for casual sessions of three to five hours
- Simple automation that unlocks gradually as you hire workers
- Developers seem active with updates and community suggestions
- Affordable price, good value for what you get
**Cons**
- Content is shallow so far, most of it can be seen in a day’s play
- Zombies feel tacked on rather than fully integrated
- Early access means many features are still just on the roadmap (priests, weather system, blood moon events,
zombie types, expeditions, research labs)
**Comparison**
If you’ve played **'Graveyard Keeper'**, this feels like its 3D cousin. Personally, I prefer Graveyard Keeper. It’s polished, fully complete with DLC, and I’d give it a solid 9 out of 10. But if pixel graphics aren’t your style, Zombie Graveyard Simulator offers a similar vibe in a different package, just in its earlier stages.
**Final Verdict**
I can’t call it amazing, but I wouldn’t dismiss it either. If you enjoy simulators, management systems, and a bit of zombie shooting on the side, it’s worth a try. It’s cheap, it gets updates, and it has room to grow. For me, it’s more of a “play for a few hours now and then” type of game rather than something I’d sink days into.
Score: 6/10
Good for fans of quirky simulators, but not essential.

Others are downvoting because they can't survive night one due to the lack of ammo but I survived 3 nights without shooting a single time.. I feel like these people should apply to IGN lmao. BTW, if you have nothing else to do you can rest and it becomes night time... As the tutorial says to do. :I
All in all, took me about 8 hours to unlock all the achievements and Im on day 28 but I'm still not close to 100%ing the upgrades yet nor have bought the endgame items. Money well spent, I had fun!

this game is absolutely amazing, but only for a handful of hours. there is definitely not enough content to justify the price. The game aslo bearly runs once you add more that 30 decoration assets, which is shame because there are some really cool graveyard designs you can make. would love to see much better optimisation and content before being charged so much.

Its o k. Runs at 45-60 on the Steam Deck with a lot of dips, on low. Not worth $15, maybe $5, it's really short. I recommend it if they lower the price.
I 100%'d it but there isn't a challenge, it all achieves in regular playing.
Also had a really annoying bug where I could only upgrade the grave keeper. Most of the day time i babysat the Florist and restocked the flowers.
Also the Garden should be early game priced, its pretty pointless. I bought it on Day 25.

It's a fun game, but is very short. If you only have a couple hours to play a day, it can be very worth it as you can just complete a day or two then save and quit to continue tomorrow. If you play in long bursts, you might find it lacking as the game can be 100% quickly. Even taking my time and enjoying it I finished everything quite fast. Overall, I would recommend. But if you need every game purchase to be worth the money, I would recommend to save for a different game.

Not quite yet.
The game has a great premise with a lot of potential for additional content and tweaks, but it's incredibly rough right now at launch state.
The game play loop is no different than any other types of simulator games: daily routine of wake up, get shipments, place accordingly, open shop, make profit, make small meta progress by leveling up to unlock new stuff or finally save enough money to buy a new part of the area, go to bed, repeat. The innovation here is a night time zombie invasion where they come to destroy your money making graves at night to which there are a few lines of defenses: barricades akin to Call of Duty zombies, then turrets / fences / floor traps, you know the deal.
All of the above sounds like it's a recipe for success, but the game just doesn't quite scratch the itch for me. It constantly feels like I'm struggling to keep my head above the water with expenses and zombies breaking stuff. Normally I'd agree with "skill issue", especially since other people don't seem to have as much trouble with the combat, but it's kind of everything being too much:
- I'm aware the devs are aware of NPCs "sticking" - meaning they freeze and don't do their job without a reset, however my florist needs to be reset 3 times per day minimum which causes customers to leave and I lose out on a significant amount of much needed income.
- The constant need of refreshing ammo for turrets / replacing broken fences / replacing flowers (especially when Garden is the last thing you're likely to unlock) is insanely expensive for how much you need. The game time could be cut in half if the items weren't so expensive and many nights are you just waiting for the next day's income to compensate. Forget about affording upgrades too.
- Four entrances for the zombies to come in feels a bit much. I think either two at the far end or one "mega" entrance would definitely make the game feel a lot better as it would allow for more strategic planning, especially since there's one entrance that gets a burst of zombies, the rest only get a few, and there's no indicator to tell you which one it is.
I think this game could be a lot better if it was balanced a bit more in terms of costs and income, plus some additional content + fixing the NPCs. For $15, I would expect a lot more than what's here, especially in the state that it's in.

Great game! I was hooked from the free Prologue! Easily start from micro managing to successful operator! easy on the eyes, easy to learn, and you can build how you see fit. There a bugs yes, but what game in the world doesn't have bugs! updates, bug fixes and improvements are constantly being rolled out which is nice. Means player feedback is taken highly into account. This game has SO much potential to evolve into so much more. I am excited to seethe heights this game will reach!

Bought this game yesterday along with some other games. Caught my eye for the simplistic art style & concept *Kill zombies + Manage a business.* Reminds me of the cool Xbox 360 Arcade games. Definitely worth it, especially if you can get it while on sale. Already got almost 9 hours.
