Overall, Wuthering Waves shows a lot of promise. If the developers continue to polish the game and listen to community feedback, this could become one of the top-tier ARPGs in its genre. Got almost 1k hours from the original Kuro Launcher. And i'm not recommending only due to the fact that the game is a gatcha, which will always be predatory. Game's fantastic, but predatory. Do not play unless you don't mind Fomo (Fear of missing out). Edit: Now 232 additional hours after the initial review, i now find out that its really possible to lose 10 50/50s in a row. Hell no, this is a chore, people. My recommendation is that you should just play Punishing Gray Raven instead if you want actually free to play friendliness and none of that "f2p" Wuwa has. Yes Wuwa IS free to play friendly...... if you save for a whole patch for an upcoming banner, that is. And its only going to get more difficult for new players to get currency to pull characters when they finish everything, since the game is relatively new. I finished everything in the world, and can now only get currency by the dailies, which is 60 astrites per day. Now that doesn't sound that free to play friendly, does it.

I gave this game a fair try, but in the end it just became boring and kind of annoying. The game sets you up with mediocre characters while promoting the crap out of characters that seem way more fun to play with. You don't get to purchase other characters, which would be fine, you purchase a "chance" to get other characters - that's actually the business model. The RNG in this game is anything but random, judging from my limited experience. When it comes to rolling echo substats, you should prepare a ritual to your preferred deity prior to spending that exp. The world seems nice and there's a lot to play for, but I can't spend hundreds of hours playing with characters I don't like - my game time is reserved for games I enjoy playing, and the characters I play with make up for a lot of the fun. I tried to obtain some characters that seemed more fun but it seems impossible unless you try for a significant amount of times, to the point where likely money would have to be involved. That being said, I can't put any more time on this game, and wont put any money in this type of business model - I don't like games that feature gambling, especially with real money; I wouldn't support this monetization. I can tell some players are bothered by my personal gaming preference, and want to defend this game as if they developed it, so let me extend an olive branch... I GET that if you put hundreds of hours in this game, and horde your resources, your favorite characters will eventually come around, you'll be able to land them, and you'll have enough resources to put together a pretty nice team. I can not do that. I can't not enjoy... let's say 70% of my gaming time in order to enjoy 30% of it down the line. By that time I'll be beyond bored and burnt. I rather pick up 10 other games and get to see those to the end. #saveadegenerate

Probably the one time I'll make a proper review, but I love this game. I've been playing day one and was keeping up with the cbt so I love it to death, the story is enjoyable, I like the characters, the map is absolutely gorgeous and the game play mechanics are fun. But As a game that was originally advertised as a mixed gender game, it's really gone down hill with the "mixed gender". We currently as of writing this, have 3 limited males (one of which was free) and 12 limited women, 2 upcoming women are confirmed and a bunch more leaked 5 star women (excluding the 4 stars that again, are ONLY women that have been released since launch). I love the women in this game alot, I own majority of them. But it's really disheartening and makes me really want to give up playing/pulling for the girls when all that get's released is woman after woman, who in the story just fall head over heels for Rover the second they lay eyes on them. While the men in the story? Nowhere to be seen. Brant had a decent spot in the story, but Phoebe took most of the highlights during it anyway. If you're someone who plays to pull anyone regardless or you actively collect women, I really would recommend this game to you because you get what you want and a beautiful game on top of it, but if you're like me and you do like collecting men in gacha's I would just steer clear. I still stick around because I absolutely love Xiangli Yao and I didn't grind for S6R2 for nothing but it's incredibly demotivating every time I see drip marketing and there's no new man for me to whale on. Edit: Forgot how incel the community is so I’m locking comments, originally had them open for constructive criticism but alas, people got upset because I gave valid complaints about the game. And people clearly didn’t read my review. I gave it a bad review because it’s easier to see the reasons not to download compared to thousands of reviews talking about how hot the women are. The game is flawed in MY opinion for the lack of gender ratio. But the game is still enjoyable and fun. If you misread what I said and think I’m talking bad about the game as a whole, that’s on you.

A free to play Masterpiece. I do not know why, it might not look like it is that good. Maybe it's the graphics, maybe the interesting characters, maybe the fluid combat, maybe the intriguing and easy to like story... maybe it's the boobs. Maybe it's all of them. I randomly found the game, in dire need of emptying my head after very diffcult and tiresome things called 'life' and this scratched it. I thought I just do not enjoy games anymore. Fellow ex Genshin enjoyer. I do not regret leaving my 2000+ hours and 300€+ account behind for Wuthering Waves. I played it at launch but it was rather rough, however at this date I just cant wrap my head around how anyone would choose Genshin Impact over it. I suppose you can enjoy both at the same time, but Wuwa removes every single thing I hated about Genshin. Usually I dont do reviews like this, but heres a nice list of pros: -Sprinting does not consume stamina outside of combat -You can run up walls instead of slowly climbing them -Dialogue can be skipped -You can farm Echos (Wuwas Artifact counterpart) at any time, be it standard enemies or bosses, even if you are out of daily energy. However, EXP mats are another story... -Actual combat that requires skill instead of just premium Elemental Mastery teams -Bosses respawn immediately -No stupid weekly material rotations -You dont need 5 million different materials for one character, they use the same for everything, depending on weapon class -You dont have to teleport around like an idiot to craft things or complete dailies -The game tries different camera angles, and doesnt have the same two NPC models with only 5 animations -NO PAIMON, free from this aneurysm inducing little twerp who has to comment on, and recap every single thing -Weapon banners are guaranteed to give you the event weapon, you read that right! -Developers actually listen to the community (even outside of China) Tho unfortunately the lack of creativity map wise is a bit evident. While I really like the new areas, and while they are creative on their own, its not hard to see how they were heavily inspired by Fontaine and Natlan at their core... yall can do better on that part. (But I guess Septimont is what Natlan was supposed to be, so its better in the end?) Otherwise the best gacha/BOTW clone/ARPG I ever played. Im pretty confident even people outside of the gacha sphere will love this game.

Wuthering Waves is pure, unhinged chaos… and I’m OBSESSED. As a Genshin Impact survivor (trust issues: severe and wallet empty), I expected pain. Instead, Kuro Games handed me a dopamine grenade, characters cooler than my previous game's wardrobe, and movements so fluid I tripped over air IRL trying to dash. All Thanks to Unreal Engine 4, the graphics are so good here. The map is massive, the combat feels like butter, and somehow the grind does not feel like suffering. Speaking of pulls, my gacha screams summoned my cat and my neighbors. Kuro Games really snapped with this one. 10/10, can't wait to get emotionally attached again and spending more money again. Stop playing Wuthering Waves and play Genshin Impact instead So many fake positive reviews that you see here are bought by Kuro Games to trick you into thinking this game is better than Genshin Impact. Every game they do is stolen from Hoyoverse which is why they are often criticized as a company with no original ideas and a lack of identity which is factually true. Kuro Games tried so hard to copy from Hoyoverse but they could never be. Don't believe me? I'll start. 1) KURO GAME copied the idea from Genshin Impact when developing for Wuthering Waves. 2) KURO GAME copied the idea from Honkai Impact 3rd when developing for Punishing Gray Raven. Do yourself a favor and try playing Hoyo games, you will see a stark contrast when comparing Hoyoverse and KURO Games. I hope this game goes to EOS soon. The wuwa fanboys are triggering me whenever I see them typing nonsensical stuff like "Genshin could NEVER."

What makes this game stand out before the rest: - Stunning graphics (Unreal Engine 4 graphics, great attention to detail) - Character design (The characters are so well designed, making you shake like crazy when you pull a 50/50) - Immersive world (The scenary is just stunning) - Intuitive progression (Makes it clear what you need to do) Overall, in my humble opinion, it will remain the best gatcha game for a very long time. The game is good but I will say only one thing. Why can't you fix these account linking things? You can't unlink an account after linking it. I'm past that. Are you going to delete this account? Been playing since day 1 - WuWa is pretty much the best open-world gacha game right now - and it's not even close. For any new players: just power through the first six acts (patch 1.0). The game improved immensely after that, all within the first few months. It features fantastic combat, beautiful characters (possibly the only game where in-game models look better than their splash arts), fun exploration (wall-running, double jumps, flying - you name it), great story presentation, and, most importantly, a proper main character who feels impactful both in the story and gameplay.

Genshin could never.

I refuse to sugarcoat and glaze over problems this game has, and I despise the evident over positive fans of this game too that excuse it solely because "it more friendly than the alternative". This review will those problems I have in detail. I'm done all the story, and the story is great, but the problems... the problems just hurt it so much for me and make me VERY worried and I won't be silent about them, it's stained and I'm not very hopeful and this review will be mostly about that. But even without those problems, I just can't really recommend it, it's still a Gacha game for crying out loud.

The negatives

Predatory Kits Artificially limited characters, and Elemental Effects

The game is obviously going down the route of providing a "Free main character which can switch elements and is very useful and friendly!!" which is obviously starting to be intentionally designed - and even reworked in one case, to enable characters with "Elemental effects" which where added to the game very recently. It's the same thing Honkai Star Rail did and I hate it, where they provide you with a good character to enable a whole archetype of characters, that they will no doubt sell you a better premium alternative to use, else have your MC held hostage with the character they are enabling or else. I don't like it, and no one liked it in HSR, so why is it ok in this game? Btw for anyone wondering, I'm not even talking about Zani, I'm talking about personal experience with Phoebe requiring Spectral Rover, and gating me from using any other Rover until I pull an alternative to enable Phoebe main big DPS, it's not fun and it's super annoying, and it was a trap, and they're going to do it again with Aero Rover without a doubt. It's a predatory pratice and I'm not going to ignore it. They could've alleviated the predatory nature of it by updating even older characters, but they didn't they only updated Spectro rover intentionally - to make the character they release (Phoebe) palatable until her "true" dedicated elemental effect application support comes along.

Censorship and age rating:

Some censorship occurred recently and it woke me up to a problem I have with this game, the age rating. The developers want to keep it at PG-12/PEGI12. They censored something very quick into retaliation to their game getting forced up to PEGI16 recently, and it showed me that they really want to keep it down at 12. Don't get me wrong they can make and have made compelling stories regardless of this rating, but it saddens me just thinking of the potential that this rating holds back, and has made me less excited about the future of what they can do at this age rating. It really gives me mixed feelings, and I just don't like that they want to advertise to 12 year olds that badly, in my opinion these games should be 16-18+ in the first place.

Zelda like games burnout is real I am only recommending it because it is a great game with top quality visuals and the combat is actually fun. I am already bored of this game because Genshin made sure that i don't invest my time in useless puzzles, useless dailouge options which never have an impact, bland character personalities. If this is your first gacha game you are lucky, as you will love this game until you reach your burnout point
