So far i dont see why this is so highly rated, specifically as a roguelike. The random generated lore and history adds nothing of value, since most of it is just randomized names and events, mostly resulting in gibberish. So far combat is extremely mid, i have tried a couple of different archetypes like a fully mutated scorpion brawler, a mind melting psychic apostle or a dual wielding gunslinger. Maybe combat gets really fun at higher levels, or with more interesting enemies. But in any of the area's around the first 3 quests its been extremely stale. Character building is really cool and there are alot of different options. But so far they don't really alter the experience that much. I did find some relatively cool stuff in some ruins, but that excitement quickly faded as most cool stuff is guarded by entity's that wil delete you from the game if you hang around in their line of sight for more than 1 turn . Overall I really do like the worldbuilding and the atmosphere of the game, this minimal style with neat descriptions really fires up your imagination. I will keep playing and try to find a way to have more fun, but i feel like im missing that "Wow" factor that every positive review is talking about.
