Well, so far i've been number 2450 in queue, reached 1100 after 4 hours before the queue crashed. Then, tried again 2 days later and got kicked from the queue halfway through. Great game, not sure how amazon is able to host the worlds cloud services when it can't even host an mmo.

Super game, no bugs at all or anything unfinished. They did not rush this release at all, and patches work fine af.. Now with improved goldreimbursements :)
Considering buying this game? Do yourself a favour and save your money, and wait a couple months. Even a year.
Once hitting level 60 after endless repetative quests, you find yourself in a game thats far from done, and should not have been released in the first place. Your options after hitting level 60 are limited since the game does not have much content.
The economy is ruined due to heavily duplication exploits used by players since early October bringing millions of gold into this game. Bugs seems to be patched every week(if they can figure out how) but with that patch new bugs get brought into the game.
This game has a huge potential, but considering the state its currently in, i've decided to take a break, and maybe reconsider in the future. So has most of my friends.
Only lvl 30, so take this with a grain of salt. This game is plain boring to play alone. The economy is like the US, the open world is like afganistan and the servers are their own universes. Reserch the server before you enter the game.(dominating factions, population and PvP-activity)
My mistake: I joined a server with only germans. I looked at the ping and saw the EN/DE and tought ''Probably a good mix'' i was wrong. No PvP at all, in 40 hours iv been attacked once...
The gameplay is repetative af. Its lord of the rings without the action. Quests takes you from A-B, and you are in constant conflict with yourself where to store your goods, what to focus and when to farm mats.
Territory upgrades are a huge coinflip (I want more storage)
So no. I cant with good conscience recommend this game to anyone unless its a group of friends who loves the grind.
The game itself is fun to play, when you can actually play it. After a few weeks with insane queues, they're now doing almost weekly patches lasting for 7-8 hours dragging far into normal gaming time (12-20 CEST). How this company don't have the resources to patch the game at morning or night time is beyond me. While I might recommend New World at a later time, at the moment the game play don't make up for all the problems. Please note that I find the game good enough to actually get annoyed by the fact that it's down a lot.
This game is just a time consuming mess, I wanted to get it refunded but since Ive been too long in queue I could not get it, since I went over the 2 hour "play time".
Lets start with the combat system, this 3 combo meele is just dumb, you can be interrupted mid combo that removes the hard hit on the 3rd strike. This again makes points in the "weapon skill tree" useless for some fights.
The travel time between quests is just dumb, Im pretty sure that if they implemented a run speed modifyer every single player would specc into it, I would think atleast.
Its not all bad though, it has potential to be a great game. Like the storage, many people seem to like it, I hate it, it is stupid that you can store resources in 1 town and not finish quest in another because you forgot it in the first one. Means you have to use fast travel (resource based) to go and grab it to then use fast travel again to deliver it.
If I knew what I know now, I would not buy this game, I would not recommend it and I would wait for the next big MMO, to be honest the trailer on youtube.com (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1C5dLnvlzg) Does not reflect the game or gameplay in any way. Basicly false advertisement.

I've spent so much time in New World since it launched on Tuesday that I can't close my eyes without seeing a parade of musketeer hats, wolves and trees. I'll be entrenched in Amazon's MMO for a while yet, but I'm ready to take a quick break from my job as a stylish, wolf-hunting lumberjack to return to my other calling, writing too many words about videogames. It's review-in-progress time!
There's nothing quite like a big MMO launch. The scale alone is absurd. Hundreds of thousands of people suddenly popping into existence inside countless parallel worlds, which keep growing in number to accommodate yet more people, all questing and hunting and arguing 24-hours a day. And since it's been a while since we had one, this launch is all wrapped up in an extra level of anticipation.
