I rarely write reviews — it usually feels pointless, chronically online. But as someone who genuinely loves this franchise, the fact that I’m even writing this says a lot.
Battlefield 6 is a good game — just not the “Battlefield is back, baby!” miracle redditor manchildren keep screaming about. If you’re a veteran, you’ll feel that immediately. The game tries to blend Call of Duty’s pacing with Battlefield’s scale and ends up doing neither particularly well. It gives off strong Modern Warfare 2019 energy (which I actually enjoy), but it shoves 64 players into tight maps with an absurdly fast TTK. You spend half the match moving like 2012 King von just to stay alive.
The result? Battlefield fatigue — chaos over strategy. Using your brain doesn’t matter much when everyone’s packed in like sardines. Add in weapon bloom that turns accurate shooting into RNG, and most fights devolve into mag-dumping and praying to the hit-reg gods.
Then there’s the grind — 3,500 kills to max a single gun. No wonder XP-farm portal maps exist.
It’s clear the game was built for mass appeal. Skill matters, but not nearly as much as it should.
And yet, beneath all that noise, the core gameplay is solid. The movement feels great, the gunplay is satisfying when it works, and there’s genuine fun buried under the design bloat. I’ll keep playing — just not pretending it’s the return of Battlefield’s glory days.
(side note, you can actually use your brain to achieve some edge, but more often that not each match is brainrot)

Gameplay is good.
You can have a lot of fun with this.
However: if you want a true battlefield experience, with large scale maps and combined arms, you will not find it here.
BF6 is battlefield with ADHD, and caters to COD players and fans of deathmatch modes.
Maps are far too small for the player count, and even the largest maps are tight, and chaotic. There is really little difference in feel, between the modes.
You can find fun here. Just know what you are buying. I was disapointed, and cannot really recommend at this pricepoint.
