650 hours of my life, this game has brought me cheers but mostly hate, the creators never intended for the game to be this big, you know that by its first week when they had to buy servers to support the fanbase that joined.
But buying servers isn't enough, the game came out without a anti cheat and I and another countless players had to face cheaters head on.
When the cheater problem was fixed the game already went from 100k players or so to 8k players, they had a good thing going and they couldn't capitalize.
You think: "but the cheaters are gone", yeah, they are, but now you are left with broken mechanics, net code and a toxic community.
Let me explain the mechanics, You and I side by side, we're playing a survival or final, the game activates rag doll and bum, that can be your end, they fixed that a litle bit over in season 4. I'll give you that, but now if you fall, the bean takes around 3 seconds to get up.
For those who know, imagine jump showdown, you jump without nothing on sight with the down golden stick rotating at god speed, and the bean just says whooo oooohh wooooo and falls, why? You wanted to take a rest? This shouldn't happen, you are playing a final and the bean falling just because is frustrating.
The netcode, like I said I jump without nothing on sight and I just fall because for me there isn't nothing but for the game I'm touching something that is triggering the fall motion, but thats not all my friends.... Nooooooo by a long shot, imagine me and a friend are playing, ahahaha I'm gonna pass first, friend is behing like in France and you are in Germany (distance comparison) and you wanna reach Poland, you are almost crossing the finish line and boom.
You get a notification saying, friend reached the finish line in first, so, ok, I'm saying this for first but imagine a race where this has happened to me one to many times, 18/19, one spot left, you and another guy fighting, you are in front of him both of you jump, he is behind you, he disappears first.
I mean, come on, are you kidding me? Is this a joke, god, I've never broken anything on a game because it's stupid but man, give me a brake this one has brought my insanity to zero man.
Look another example, you and another player, you suddently stop and the other one keeps running against you, want a free ride? Because the guy behind you will push you unintentionally, again for distance comparison, from France to Germany, now imagine you are in Hex-a-Gone, a guys goes against you and takes you with him, you've just lost because the game favors him.
Now you tell me, "oh don't cry it happens exactly the same thing with you.", well I never took anyone in front of me, but like I said the net code is so broken that I've probably have and never saw.
My final point, toxic community, we might not have voice chat, we might not have written chat, but we have actions, using jump showdown has an example again, everybody wins in that game mode my friends, after 5 minutes the game ends and everybody gets a crow being that the game main objective.
People prefer to go and grab others ending up dying or killing their adversary or both, that aint fair play, thats beeing a coward, I'm good but I fall in jump showdown, but I don't go grabbing other players to fastten the round and win, I like to give everybody a chance!
A race mode, 18/19 again, you think you are the last one, you see the finish line, there is a guy there, why, I mean, just finish the damn race, I could've been already looking for another lobby and the current lobby could be in another round but no we have to wait for a jack ass who thinks it's funny to camp outside the finish line and wave for the guys that wont make it.
The trolling, oh the trolling, seeing players grabbing others just for fun to see them fall and respawn in a checkpoint behind, it's freaking annoying.
I said it was my final point but I cant go before talking about the MM, a player with 300 crowns, it aint much but it is honest work, is paired with brain dead assholes who can't pass the first round, I'm talking of the brand new squad mode, I want to have a decent team that knows what is doing and instead I'm given brain dead asses, but when I'm solo I'm facing golden chicken's, golden wolfes, golden knights, it almost looks like is rigged.
Look it's a fun game for someone new, but spend this amount of time and you start to get crazy, add all the problems above and what the hell are you doing in this game?
But you wanna know what is the cherrie in top of the game? Infallible, I've gotten my hands near that achievement 3 times already, but never capitalized because the game doesn't want you to get it and puts the above problems and others like disconnect in front of you. EDIT: I got infallible without using the exploit, won 5 squads modes, so not everything is bad I guess.
So yeah, I appreciate if you read this review, I loved this game but it's becoming a villain by now and I am not enjoying to play it, I wanna say I'll quit it for some time but I always come back after a day or two, I'm just hopping that with Epic involvment they can finally start fixing this and make FG a better game, for those who are not toxic and stayed untill the end, I appreciate it, happy crown hunting fellas!
