I think the game is at the top of the foodchain. You know they have copied the success of wow classic when there is 20k+ que right at the bat.

Imagine the game I just described but you craved some PvE content. So you go to nexusmods and download a mod with the top comment being from the author.
"I will no longer be working on this mod as I have to focus on my studies and other things."

You download it anyway but due to the limited assets and tools they had to work with it's like a cheap forced port from another game making it BARELY compatible with your character's kit.
Other things:

You don't swim in this game. You walk through the water. The river.. probably the ocean if you could hold your breath long enough.
What happens when your breath runs out? Some invisible force of nature absolutely knocks you senseless, shoving your character in a random direction and killing you in ONE HIT! Very cool and unique take on "drowning."
You can't handle descending stairs.
Rather than walk down the stairs you will run as fast as you can, so fast in fact that you run off the stairs only to fall down, stop, pick yourself up and then do it again until you've reached the bottom of said stairs.
There are no unique or interesting items. They're all stat-sticks.
The professions feel mostly pointless as you'll find much better loot through quests and drops. Luckily the professions are mandatory if you want to complete all quests and run dungeons.
Speaking of dungeons, to run one you'll need an "Orb of attunement." You must craft this orb and it isn't cheap. The orb is also consumed on-use.
I would compare it to having to do the Molten Core attunement quest every time you wanted to run MC.
Sometimes you will need to kill say, 3 tigers. Unfortunately there are only 2 tiger spawns so even if you're ALONE IN THIS MMO you'll have to wait for at least 1 to re-spawn. This can take several minutes.
The redeeming quality:

I have to say though that it is absolutely out-of-this-world impressive how they dared to release this game without an "Early Access" or "Pre-Alpha" sticker on it.
I am certain that the people behind this game are in constant orbit around their own balls due to their incredible mass.

The real version of Albion online, the mix between RuneScape and then some eve elements are massive, if you like grinding skills you will enjoy this game.

You start off like a simple swordsmen. You learn how to move, strike, defend, evade - and here it struck me, I need to eat some Tuna before focusating further on this review.
When you have learned to move, you do things. Its a beautful world, and you are literally guided by the light (Bless IT!).
You craft, you kill, you help, you move, you chop down the Amazon just to get some more of that fuel for your village people. And here it comes to realization - Bill Gates wants us to cooperate, so you can talk, chat, be witty, be friendly in chat channels, voice channels, even in discord channels (maybe not supported in 1.0).
When you tune in to this game, its so much more, its like fighting Malaria - TOGETHER!
And there are evil people there are good, there are not thiefes but there are liars.
And all the profit as I understand it - it goes to Bill and Malyssa Fundacion!

Disgustingly boring when you prepurchase the deluxe edition of a game, and all it does is crash.
Not setting up correct server capacity so that everyone has to queue for a couple of hours, just to then let it crash once you're in position 200 in queue (after 2 hours of waiting) just to then make it unavailable for the player even to log in for a couple of hours :)
I enjoyed the first 2 hours i had to play the game, but launches like these makes it look so bad, and loses the game a lot of players.
I don't usually do reviews but I'm just going to be upvoting this game just because I've had so much fun on it both solo and with other players and would love to see more players atleast try and pick it up. It's not your traditional mmo but honestly I prefer this type of game over the 7-15 key rotation other mmo games offer. I mean this is simple to pickup for anyone, I have a friend who never ever played an mmorpg for more than 1 hour and quit the game. Surprisingly with this game he stayed all the way for max level and is still farming GS currently doing runs as a healer of all things.
Point is, the game is simple to pick up atleast PvE wise and is really fun solo and with friends, it has a few bugs that need to be ironed out that can take away from immersion, for example in one of the endgame dungeons there's a cheese that allows you to kill one of the bosses without putting in any effort whatsoever but other than things like that the game is incredibly fun and the class system is easy and flexible allowing you to enjoy all classes without having to make multiple alts and having to farm insanely much gear.
As always with any other game there's obviously a ceiling and a meta that players do expect you to follow for endgame content, but in terms of meta this is probably the least punishing game I've seen atleast when it comes to playing off-meta for PvE, I currently don't know much about PvP but I would expect that running off-meta would be a tad bit more punishing there because obviously there's a reason you'd run meta over off-meta.
As for gearing I honestly didn't find the grind incredibly tedious and boring as it was quite fast and easily accessible from multiple avenues, I recommend you go on a populated server however as expeditions are the most fun way to go about doing it imo. I however do wish they did more server merges or add cross-server group finding cause sometimes, especially as a dps (as expected of a mmorpg).
All in all would recommend this game for the cheap price during the sales atleast and honestly a lot of game for your buck even without the sale. I would recommend you to enjoy all of the aspects of the game rather than just speedrunning to endgame as that would take a lot away from the game.
I recommend you play this atleast with 2-3 buddies for maximum enjoyment.
8/10, could be so much better if they only ironed out bugs and added a few more expeditions as that's where the game really shines, also add more cross-server activities. No one likes a waiting simulator.
