This should be rebranded before it is sold, as a player of all the previous Baldur's Gate I am a bit disappointed by them using the brand here, it is like making a Counter Strike game in the Warcraft universe and naming it World of Warcraft 2.
Overall playable and not bad, but this is not Baldur's Gate, this is Divinity Original Sin 3 set in the Forgotten realms universe.

Incredibly immersive and very addictive! As I played my first campaign I counted the minutes in between play sessions and forgot other games existed. This being my first experience in RPG games it was definitely a great introduction and has made me excited to try out others in the genre.
Though I was lucky to get a game key from my brother, who bought one of the collectors editions with the accompanying code (as well as the game directly through steam), knowing the game now I wouldn't hesitate to spend my money on it. Usually I wait until a title goes on sale, but BG3 would be an exception to that, it's just that good!
My only note of complaint is how slow the environment is to load, when either loading a save or moving to a different area. It does break the immersion during cutscenes and gameplay when the action happens without the environment loaded, but it's not a complete dealbreaker and once actually loaded it is back to full immersion.
I'm now on my second playthrough, this time going full on genocidal, and it is just as fun as being a saint. A bit heartbreaking at first to tear through characters I've grown to love but then very enjoyable to see how the story changes around my decisions.
If you're hesitating to buy, DON'T! It is well worth the money and is a well deserved award winning title!
My barbarian was disarmed and instead of equipping her weapon she just crits the enemy with a melee strike killing them instantly.
10/10 would romance Karlach again
