I would not recommend this game, unless you are a perfectionist which i am not, the game forces you to play in a specific way and if you don't you get punished HARD for it.
Core gameplay is really trash imo, when you try to run the characther ALWAYS dash before he actually starts to run and when he is running you have 0 control basically because the camera can't really keep up with you.
there are 3 different types of dodges: jumping, deflecting and dashing. Enemies sometimes before striking you shows a red marker which indicates that you must perform one of these dodges in order to avoid it and if you don't you will probably die in 1 hit or 2 at most, in my opinion: this sucks ass sine you only have like at most half a second to decide what to do and you have no chance to see what the actual attack is going to be, i feel like the only way to beat this is to study the enemy 15 times over to see what moves he has which is not fun.

the skillgap between "regular" enemies and enemies with displaying healthbars is insane... the regular ones you can just beat the shit out of in 2 seconds and the other ones you have to use every single thing at your disposal to even get a hit in and the amount of damage they do is insane.. either perfect their movements or die trying
when it comes to difficulty dark souls aint got shit on this, but dark souls is also 10x more fun than this since you can't even switch fucking weapons, atleast not that i have seen to this point..
although, graphics is decent, texture is pretty good, lighting is good but the gameplay is just not there, not sure if i will continue to play it since im more of a FPS guy but it's a git gud or get lost game in my opinion.

For being the n:th game in similar style they still haven't fixed camera issues (yes it's fun to face giant enemies in a small room where the entire screen filled with 25x25 texels), repeated cinematics (are you really surprised that people still die on your bosses?), hitboxes that have no visual representation, randomly losing the target lock from things moving around (i suppose it's part of the 'skillbased' gameplay?) and some of what is sometimes lovely with the Dark souls series (such as level and boss design).
These minor flaws would not warrant a negative review for me and parts of the game is enjoyable. The major flaw is instead in the game being designed around the ability to flawlessly 'parry' EVERY attack ('blocking' is a wasted parry and prolongs the fight). Not obtaining or maintaining the necesary reflexes then net you as a player very little, as the remaining parts i find to be subpar and/or irrelevant (for example, indie titles could give better quality stealth mechanics). So in the end, the game consists of one thing: a combat mechanic. While the game takes the combat mechanic to it's extreme by giving every possible advantage to the boss (end game bosses will laugh at your ability to revive once, oh wait they don't.. my bad, i almost forgot the storyline) and in a Darksouls fashion boss fights are drawn out (to ensure the player did not win by off chance). If the particular combat mechanic is not enjoyed by the player, the game then has very little to offer, as there is no other way to play the game.
to hard i cant even clear a boss the deflect shoud be unlimited but is not you cant cunter beacuse you have to met surtens standards for the cunter to his the npc is like nim boss in one of ea game this is just bad DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTT GET THE GAME yes it looks good but that is all the in game mechanics suck the combat and auto target dont work you cant get the gear you want but you have the grind and grind the ditec on npc are to hige again you supus to be ninja but you cant even sneak up on any one whit out 12 npc rushing you and killing you i sat and cunted how many time i died on npc alone 190 time then boss 345 time Fuck it this game have to get huge update and mods to work beacuse now it suck you cant even buy heling gear and so on and the enemy never drop what you need i can go on and on but sens i belive that this recension will get delited i have to say to steam and dev Fuck this game i cant get who it got this many prices and nomination
Game is so incredibly hard to the point where it just isn't even fun and its actually just suffering. Unfortunately i cannot get a refund at this point either so i just lost 29€ for nothing. Don't reccomend, not worth game of the year AT ALL.

This game is very good I really dig this game. Just one gripe, why are there always a trillion enemies before a really hard boss? Lady butterfly is annoying sure, but there aren't 2 big dudes and like 7 normal dudes like 7 seven star long spear dude don't remember his name. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
