DELTARUNE tomorrow was yesterday. This game has given me DETERMINATION to live longer and fulfill my HOPES & DREAMS. Anyone who wants to live a good adventure with characters better developed than most games and some F*ing good music should play this game. Roxas out.

stupid ass impossible boss fight early on in chapter 3. also took like 16 minutes to buy. 5/10 - Chapter 1 and 2 was at least good.

this game feels like someone takes you on a happy, whimsical adventure for 3 hours and then spits in your face, kills your dog, tortures your family in front of your very eyes and gives you irreparable emotional damage for the rest of your life. my life is deltaruined. 10/10.

I love Deltarune. Why did I chose not to recommend this game? Someone had to do it, otherwise it'll be suspicious for a game to have 100% positive reviews.

No one is going to read this review so i want to confess that i am gay.

(Clarification: Already played Chapter 1 and 2 in the Demo) Barely an hour in and I can say with confidence that this is the most fun I've had in a video game in a long while. Gameplay is fresh but familiar and the writing is - as expected - on point. I'm going to update this review once I've finished Chapter 4.

As someone who enjoyed Undertale, I went into DELTARUNE expecting something fresh yet familiar — clever writing, meaningful choices, and a compelling story. What I got was a flashy, half-baked product that relies too heavily on its predecessor's reputation. First, let’s talk gameplay. The combat system tries to improve on Undertale's turn-based mechanics, but ends up feeling like a bloated mini-game. The new “TP” system and party mechanics add complexity without depth. Battles quickly become repetitive and lack the emotional tension that Undertale nailed so well. The story, which is supposed to be the emotional core of the experience, feels meandering and incomplete. Characters are quirky, sure, but few of them feel memorable or earn the player’s emotional investment. The writing often dips into self-indulgent nonsense, and despite the game’s attempts at emotional moments, none of it really lands — it all feels like build-up with no payoff. Worse, the choices you make feel meaningless. Where Undertale thrived on consequence, DELTARUNE strips away agency, reducing the player to a passive observer. For a game that pretends to care about morality and consequences, that’s a pretty big failure.

Loaded up chapter 3 first time, played for about an hour and a half, it was...fine? Kinda boring, but for the start of a chapter I'm okay with that. Next time I started it up, it HARDDD crashed my laptop, practically blew my eardrums and made my computer restart. The little gameplay I saw seemed okay, but having the worst crash I've ever seen so early on into gameplay suggests there are some bugs. I'll give it another try in a few months and change my review to good if it's fixed, but that crash isn't my laptop's fault because I have a decent one and almost never crash on any other game.

(i will update this as i play ofc) this game is absolutely hilarious in every aspect, the gameplay is as you know it but everything has a little more charm to it. i can tell toby really really put more effort into deltarune 3-4 than 1-2. this is by far my favorite creation by toby fox and it will enter my top 5 games of all time. after finishing chapter 3 i STILL agree with my 10/10 rating, i didnt think thy could expand on the peakness of ch2 but they did. wow is all i have to say i cant figure out if theres anything i really dislike specifically, most of the things i can point out a negative on dont really affect the game all that much, it keeps you entertained for a very long time and as a person with intense adhd which decreases my attention span a lot i played this game for 7 hours straight on release day. 10/10 i do recommend
