breaks my heart to say this because i dearly love this game...but 4 crashes, lost save files (up to ng+12), and a freeze that lead to a 5th crash is not a dlc i can recommend.
corrupted/loss of save files is a massive let down.
Who idea was to make chapter 9 a requirement to get access to the DLC? I am not playing the game for the second time again when there are other newer games to play.
This prequel dlc can only be accessed from an in-game element that is not available until Chapter 9.
Press the NG+ button after finishing the game a couple years ago? Have fun spending your entire weekend replaying the base game so you unlock the ability to launch the standalone prequel you just purchased.
Seriously devs... "Because FROMSOFT did it" is not a valid excuse anymore. At most, this should be a main menu option not activated until you have a save file clear.
Requires you to play 20 hours just to play the dlc and i played through the game 3 times and i had to play thorough the game again to reach chapter 9 to access the dlc and dlc was expecting separate save with new start. Nope have all my stuff and enemies are basically 3 hitting me and im dead the first boss oh maaaaan i cant even doing anything pushes me towards the edge of the map with its hit boxes cant move because i get stuck everytime and im not turning down the difficulty because i aint a cry baby like al the other players cried about for this game. Honestly love this game but this dlc i think im going to watch gameplay just lo learn because im not having fun at all.
I played it on Xbox and then bought another copy on Steam that includes the DLC. Now you’re telling me I have to get all the way to Chapter 9 just to access the DLC? What’s wrong with you guys? Why couldn’t you make it more convenient for players?
IF YOU LAUNCHED ON XGP. YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT THIS.
Cannot run for more than 4 minutes on a 4090. Did fresh installs of the game, drivers (current and rolled back to 576.52), made sure BIOS up to date, ran several system diagnostics all clear, installed on 3 different NVME drives still crashes. Have to admit it is just the game. Was playing the base game to prepare for this possibly dropping soon so it was working just the other day till this update.
Only thing that looks odd to me is it is using 64GB of RAM when most games don't even use 16GB but I don't know if it did that before or not.
Loved the base game but I can't recommend the DLC/latest update since it has broken the game for me.
Overture requires you to complete the Main Story through Chapter 9. This wouldn't be a huge issue, however as someone who has already finished the Main Story - opening the game to play the DLC now requires me to start a NG+ save and replay 90% of the game JUST TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE DLC!
They need to add a way to load chapters/checkpoints on a NG+ file.
Truly disappointing as I loved the base game and was super excited to play the DLC. But I do not have the time to replay the Main Story just to access Overture.
Refunded until they fix this.

The DLC isn't accessible until chapter 9. So if you completed your play-through like me and started a new game plus, you have to play through the entire game again. Which sucks because as much as I liked the game, I'm not in the mood to play through 20 hours of it access the DLC. What a crap decision to lock the at a single point in the game.
maintains all the issues of the Lies of P late game, and I am a bit disappointed the only way to fix the egregious NG+ scaling is to turn the game down to being way too easy. too focused on difficulty, not enough on fun challenges. first major boss into the second main area solidified my dislike.
Wow the boss rush mode sucks. My heath is at the soft cap and I'm wearing both the physical damage talisman AND the best defense in the game, and the lvl 4 Puppet Master STILL 1-SHOTS ME AT FULL?!? How is that an interesting mode?
I didn't see a single different attack between the lvl 3 and lvl 4 versions the hour or so I compared each, the only difference was seemingly the damage and health sliders getting adjusted to the snooze-fest bullsh*t setting. This is exactly the type of thing that I worried would happen with the introduction of difficulty levels.
The 5 minutes I spent in the actual dlc felt cool, I have yet to fight any bosses there but hopefully they don't feel as goofy as the boss rush mode feels.
Treating my +5 and +10's like they haven't been upgraded is fun at the beginning, but quickly wears thin in the absence of further upgrades. Also really getting sick of constantly being pinned against a wall where the camera spergs out.
