Me as a long time player of strategies such as HoMM 3/5/7, Civ 6, Stellaris and so on i apprecitiate this game for doing such an amazing blend of theese games. The best thing about this game is way of handling technology, which is very problematic is such games and is handled very well. Overall an underrated game in its genre.

Age of Wonders 4 je hrou která mě doslova pohltila jelikož obsahuje mnoho ale opravdu mnoho možných kombinací jak hru hrát. Na této hře se mi líbí také to že si před startem svého dobrodružství vytvoříte svůj vlastní národ (Rasu, Kulturu a Hl. Charakter - Avatara).
Age of Wonders 4 má mnoho rozšiřujících prvku (DLC) které si lze dokoupit k hlavní hře.

Age of Wonders 4 je hrou ve které lze budovat a rozvíjet svá města, budovat armády, vytvářet aliance s jinými hráči nebo s nimi započít válku. Máte tu i svého "Avatara" kterému můžete dávat nové předměty a postupem času mu i odemykat vyšší Úrovně.
Jediné problémy v této hře jsou dle mého názoru asi dva.
PRVNÍ je ten, že kompletně celá hra je jen přeložena do velmi málo jazyků.
DRUHÝ problém je ten, že hra obsahuje jak už bylo zmíněno MNOHO věcí a to nemusí mít někteří hráči rádi.
Jinak za mě je to skvělá hra...
I never before played any Age of Wonders, but I love this game.
Creativity:
you can create your own "people", from different races, backgrounds, cultures, perks. With their own leader, name and story. It is great, but it could be little bit better. I would love to have more options to customize my nation appearance. Maybe I want to have just one type of helmet for all my soldiers, maybe I want them all to have same colored eyes or something like that (things that you already can change when creating leader of the people). But overall I love it and I really want to buy all DLCs in the future to create more interesting nations. I would also like to have more options to customize mounts (like color of my glorious unicorn or scale of my horse)
Gameplay:
Is very good and enjoyable, by my opinion it is something between Civilisation and Heroes of might and magic (Im not really into turn based games, so there could be better examples but these two I have on mind), and for me it is better Civilisation than Civilisation and better Heroes than Heroes. It is not very hard to learn how to play it on ok level, but I think to master it you must really want to. Sometimes it is hard to defeat enemy that has taken everything he could to counter your build (like if you roleplay some fiery nation and your enemy has big fire resistance), but it is quite fun and also always everytime you have some way to counter it. There are also events which are ok. You can encounter races that you previously created (you can disable that, but why would you do that?) and also you can get heroes from races that you have in you Pantheon. So overall gameplay is great

It is really not something to write home about, but it could be great to learn how to play the game. Also I like difficulty scaling. But really you will not play this game for story someone else written, you should play it for your own story/ies.
I would really love to see some minor changes to creation of peoples but overall this game is wonderfull, I love it and I will eventually buy every DLC you will made.

Great game! I played AoW 1 when I was a kid a lot and it's amazing, that the concept still remains the same, but AoW 4 is just more complex, more fun, more everything! Absolutely love it!
Age of wonders mne tak nějak celý život míjelo, ale to co mne motivovalo ke koupi byla možnost si vytvořit v tahové strategii svůj vlastní národ i včetně vlastností.
Předchozí díly jsem nehrál a tak je nemohu nikterak porovnávat, ale hned vedle Heroes of might and magic je to dle mého názoru jedna z nejlepších tahovek, jaké jsem za poslední dekády hrál. Je zde spousta možností, jak hrát, za koho hráta na co se více zaměřit. Každá mapa vypadá jinak, nikdy nestoupnete dvakrát na stejnou mapu.
Další prvek co se mi líbí je forma vylepšování jednotek. Vše je založeno na výzkumu knih magie, respektive zaměření, jaké si pro svůj národ vyberete. Zajímavým prvkem jsou i "mutace", které můžete využít k vylepšení vlastností vaší rasy.
Celé hře bych vytkl jen dvě věci. Štve mne, že si udělám postavu dle svého, ale pomocí transformací nabírá nechtěné úpravy vzhledu (ty se dají skrýt, to ano, ale v momentě, kdy si rasu přidáte do pantheonu změny vzhledu zůstávali - tedy alespoň u mne). Druhou věcí je postupem času notná repetitivnost. Prvků je zde opravdu hodně, ale budovy, styl hraní...časem se to omýlá dokola, to ale není ani tak výtka. Autoři pořád přidávají nový obsah a o hru se starají, což maximálně cením.
Za mne mohu všem fanouškům tahovek jen doporučit, ne tak často najdete hru, kde barbarští elfové bojují proti vzdělaným a magicky nadaným orkům :D
I am enjoying this game as I did with all the previous AoW games and I consider it even better in many ways. There are still a few clunky mechanics (e.g. not being able to chain multiple armies and having to move them one by one, which may be annoying in mid to late game), but it is extremely funny and amount of customizations of your preferred race is truly wondrous.
I like AoW4, it reminds me of Master of Magic. It has city building, research, magic, exploration and combat. Offers quite nice customization options to create your own unique race
