I was really excited for this game for a while, as I never have enough of Souls like experiences. However, I have to say, the performance made me to stop playing only after only 20 minutes and I cant ask for a refund since I´ve bought it on extern website. What I can say now for people who are thinking of getting into the game - Dont buy it yet. I am putting it on side and waiting for patches, since now the game is very hardly playable.
Allright, after today´s patch 1.3 the game is finally in a playable state for me. Playable doesnt mean enjoyable. I feel like the lack of FPS doesnt let me enjoy the game in its full quality, if there is some. I have spent some more time in the game today, fighting low lvl enemies and even encountered the boss. But even though the performance is better now, it still keeps me from playing more, therefore I keep my review negative and I still cant recommend the game. I am now fully trusting devs in making the game and its performance better in (near) future (like I have other choice lol), because the gameplay looks promising and there is never enough souls like games in the market for me!

Why does Wu Chang feel like a weak game?
. Poor technical execution
* The graphics are **average at best**, not what you'd expect from a next-gen title. Environments feel bland, with little detail and artificial lighting.
* **Character and combat animations feel stiff** and unfinished – transitions between attacks, dodges, and blocks are choppy.
* There are many **unnatural movements**, both in enemies and the main character.
2. **Uninspired combat system**
* Combat is **slow and lacks dynamism**. It doesn't feel intense or satisfying.
* **Enemies are generic** and often look like simple reskins or variations.
* Players report a **lack of impact** – hit detection feels off, and the overall gameplay feels “dead.”
---
3. **Lack of game identity**
* The game borrows from various dark fantasy titles but **offers nothing new**. Instead of originality, it feels like a patchwork of familiar ideas.
* The design of characters and environments is often **forgettable and soulless**. Nothing stands out – no iconic moments or unique mechanics.
---
4. **Shallow story and world-building**
* The lore is either **clumsy or underdeveloped** – the player never feels truly drawn into the world.
* **Characters and dialogue are uninteresting**, giving players little reason to care.
* The world feels more like a **background set than a living, breathing place** with history and personality.
5. **Low production value**
* The game feels like a **low-budget project**, with cut corners in voice acting, effects, and even the user interface.
* It lacks that **final polish** – the feeling that everything fits together and works seamlessly.
---
? **Summary:**
**Wu Chang** tries to appeal to fans of Soulslike and dark fantasy games, but its execution is weak.
It's missing:
* a strong identity,
* solid technical quality,
* distinctive design,
* and most importantly, the feeling that you're playing something truly crafted and thought-throug
