I feel pained by writing this negative review, as the game overall is fantastic. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME FOR CASUAL PLAYERS, who simply want to enjoy the beautiful grafics, unique combat whilst experiencing the main story, and a few side quests.
As I said, there is a lot of great things about this game, and after playing the first hour I had no doubt I would finish this game, and give it a good review. However, I had to unwillingly stop playing this game, because I could not defeat Renoir in the Boss fight at Old Lumiere, despite trying multiple times!
I'm a casual player, and as such played this game on the "Story difficulty", and whilst I expect the combat to be engaging at this difficulty, I do not want the combat to be IMPOSSIBLE, or for it to require me to do A LOT of grinding, or optimization of my builds by researching the internet. And sadly, it is now my understanding that this game require these things, even at the easiest difficulty level if you wish to finish the game. So sadly, after some reflection, I have choosen to unwillingly stop my playthrough of the game at this point.
But all the praise for the dev team for making a beautiful unique game, as I'm sure the main story is fantastic.
