This game is for sure one of the worst modern world fighting games out there, everything from the tankfights to the gunfights, this game is honestly one of the worst games out there in my opinion. I would only recommend this game to people i hate.

Okay, here's the thing. You will die. You will die a lot. Every new enemy you meet, you'll die to at first. You need to learn their tells, their combos and moves. You'll have to learn your own tells, combos and moves. You'll have to learn if this combat art has too long a wind-up. Which arts are good for which enemies. Which prosthetic tools help you. Or hinder you.
And as you learn, you have to refine your sense of timing. The game rewards good timing and punishes bad timing. Be too snappy, too aggressive, flail too much and show nerves instead of being calm 'n' collected? You get punished so hard you might as well become a permanent bottom and walk away in shame. Or you keep pounding that wall until it breaks. But you can do it. Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
Sekiro is Dark Souls with locked weeb items, a 1h main hand, light armour and no shield huffing speed. You MUST master dodging (with few invincibility frames) and parrying (reliant on posture meter with perfect parries taking way less posture damage and damaging enemies posture meter in return). Until you learn how to do both, you are dead meat walking. But you can overcome it. You can access a story that is more open and obvious, but still expressed through the usual FromSoft means. On top of that, you can access skills expanding how you can cycle moves into parries into tools into specific attack moves after tool uses into dodges and so on. Fighting in Sekiro is FUN. (Once you master it. Side effects may include minor bursts of incoherent rage and utter exasperation.)
And here's a secret I've come to know within the game. Not a single enemy is absolute utter bullshit with unreasonable combat moves. They move. They have tells for each move. Even short-term tells for quick moves that you can't read at first. So I'll just reiterate... this game is damn good and contains too many good facets.
Buy it. A must buy. Hopefully on a sale for your wallet's sake. Watch out lest you commit wallet-seppuku. Improvise. Resurrect. Adapt. Die. Adapt. Return. Adapt. Overcome.
